if you wanna go the whole energy route, you'd be surprised how well a nice jog can release energy.  maybe a quick jog and then a good stretch before practice would help (maybe even with a little tea that relaxes muscles, maybe something with kava or passion flower or something in it).

I agree with the history part, but the stuff I've seen shows him being quite stubborn in things, changing his mind about some things, and being a willy to his daughter (if you'll pardon my french).  So really, I prefer to think that he wanted to take it back out of confusion or just plain cussedness than to think that he allowed himself to be pushed around.  He just didn't seem the type who lets others tell him what to do or say.

I feel you.  That other half of me agrees with you.  I find that more often than not when he's mentioned in alternative literature it's usually to say that he didn't help at all (by throwing around his considerable 'academic' weight) or he outright disputed good research because it didn't "fit".

But isn't it interesting how history has led each of us to two very different conclusions about one influential man?  fascinating to me.

I did not appreciate the syntactic symmetry.

In many respects it feels just as you would feel if your actual body were doing the things you perceive your astral body as doing.  sometimes you feel discarnate, like you're only a small point of consciousness.  but i would say that more often than not, i just feel normal.

This is something that I've been thinking about more and more and I really should have been sharing these feelings here at AP.  I am convinced that the #1 reason for failed projection (sorry ryan, not fear, though this issue leads to fear) is ignorance on the subject.  Not a lack of knowledge about AP theory and all that jazz.  But simply an understanding of what you're trying to do with your mind and body.  People go into this wanting to achieve OBE and that is their end goal, but they have no idea what the state of mind ought to be or what their body is really doing.  They just know that if they follow Technique A or Technique B, then some author or whatever says they will experience an OBE.  But these folks never really understand why they're doing a technique.

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to really explain what it is you're doing (i'm at work) right now, but I will say this.  What you're going for here is a scenario where you have 2 important qualities:

#1 - Dissociation [literally dis-association] from the body - you want to essentially forget about your physical body and physical stimuli.  this isn't easy, obviously.  we are very physically focused 70% of our day (sleep accounts for the rest in this randomly pulled out of my bum statistic).  so to just stop being aware of your body and it's environment can be tricky.  this is one of the big reasons people say to try to project immediately upon waking (either in the morning or from a nap) or when going to sleep at night.  during these times you are already naturally dissociated.  what this should clue you in on is that when you sleep you are essentially in the same state that is required for projection.  the only real distinction being that you have maintained a thread of awareness as your body goes to sleep (which is where monroe's mind awake-body asleep comes from, which is a notion i don't entirely agree with).

#2 - A quiescent mind - Robert Peterson describes this the best.  He says that the state of mind you want to achieve is like the state of mind that you have when you are out on an evening with a thunderstorm rolling in.  Off in the distance you see a flash of lightning.  For a few brief moments you are completely still.  Your mind is singularly focused on listening for the subsequent thunder.  In that brief moment between lightning and thunder your mind is quiesced because you have stopped paying attention to anything but your hearing.  It's this singular focus that you want to achieve.  I will tell you from experience that there are two ways to go about finding this quiescent mind.  The first is through arduous and dedicated meditative practice.  This is probably a good route for people who are naturally adept at meditating.  It takes years of regular meditation to have the kind of control that is required to focus intently on one thing to the exclusion of all else.  I know a few people that can do it this way, but they have all put in a lot of time and work to get to that point.  Probably the most proficient I know is a hypnotherapist.  The second means of achieving a quiescent mind is to utilize your body's natural rhythms.  When you go to sleep at night (or for a nap) and when you wake up in the morning your mind is quiesced.  You aren't quite awake in the physical, but you're also not asleep either.  You are in a state of mind that is very conducive to singular thought.  This is a less predictable form of exit, but is by far the easiest way to get there for new people who don't have as much interest in cultivating a regular meditative practice.  [that said, don't think that this is a cop out to not meditate.  in the end, those who achieve this state of mind and project their consciousness from a controlled meditative state tend to be more successful I think.  and i don't just mean success in separation, but rather success in controlling the actual OBE experience.  when OOB your mind functions a little differently and things can be foggy at first.  but those people who are accomplished meditators will have little trouble because they know how to control their own mind and have experienced what cognition is like in different altered states.]

Beyond that, there are tricks and techniques that people teach, but they essentially come down to these categories, are you meditating to get there or are you going to utilize your body's rhythms and catch yourself as you drift to sleep.  both techniques present their own challenges but that's the gist.  phasing falls somewhere in between, sometimes utilizing a meditative technique to manipulate the natural "hallucinations" that come in the form of hypnagogia (mostly, sometimes hypnopompia).

I think it had to do with QM and it's implications.  He preferred to think he was wrong than to think that the universe is as 'magical' as it appears to be.

Yea, that's the official story.  Einstein retracted his theory because it was "incomplete" (it should be noted that incomplete doesn't mean that it's not engineerable) and it was incomplete because it didn't include the quantum forces of strong and weak nuclear forces.  I know that Einstein was hesitant to publicly support theories that seemed "magical", but there are so many reports of him subtly supporting (often in private) many theories that contradict the orthodoxy.  Part of me thinks that Einstein was a lot more hip than people give him credit for and that he was most likely pressured by many "powerful" people to say or not say one thing or another.  Who knows.  The one thing I do know is that history lies.

Don't be discouraged Don.

Like you said, you're young, but you're already light years beyond the typical 17 year old.  You are most certainly on a path that will accelerate very quickly in the coming years.  You're coupling spiritual/psychological growth and development with your biological growth and development (which as a male will have the biggest impact around your age through your early 20s).  You may struggle because others expect you to fall in line with orthodoxy, but you will have an insatiable urge to explore your reality (which isn't really thought of as a noble pursuit these days).  But, in the end, you'll be better off, I assure you.  I went through the same thing and was probably about where you are when I was 18 or so (my senior year in high school).

Stick with it.

It seems to be protestants that suck.  The really Americanized ones.  There are a lot of cross-overs between Catholicism and Paganism though.  I have quite a few customers that call themselves Christo-pagans and others that call themselves things like Christian Witches.  Not to mention the central and south american latin folks and indians (indigenous peoples) took the catholic saints and whatnot and just added them to their own pantheon so to say.  They are often catholics that are heavily influenced by pagan traditions.  And on the whole, these people are down-to-earth and have a much greater (larger, expanded) perspective than their protestant counter-parts (who seem to often be very closed off and dogmatic).

I have a friend who is a Wiccan Priest but he calls himself a Christo-Pagan because he really loves the ritualistic side of catholicism and attends a catholic church regularly.  He says that he is christian in many ways, but he also worships the goddess (which is painfully absent from christian traditions, even though she existed in early christian teachings as Sophia, wisdom) and nature.

Governments have been playing around with all of those things for decades. Unfortunately, they're quite dangerous for us "normal folks" and usually require COSMIC TOP-SECRET clearance to play with.

What's his name, the Philadelphia Experiment guy (Carlos Allende or Carl Allen I think) said that Einstein withdrew his Unified Field Theory of 1927-28 because he didn't think humanity could handle the information, that he thought we would destroy ourselves with it.

I love Tesla too... there has been talk that he would have released much more of his work, if he was not prevented by plutocrats like J.P. Morgan wanting to monetize all of his discoveries; not sure to what extent it is true, but definitely noteworthy.

There definitely is not a line between physics and electricity though, unless you are talking about the theoretical integration of the two by the likes of Tesla and Faraday, etc.

There absolutely is a link.  Einstein's Unified Field Theory 1928.  Torsion Tensor.  And there were some really obscure (and possibly intentionally hidden) work done both before and after Einstein published his unified field theory (that he supposedly withdrew because it was incomplete, though some people say that he withdrew it because he realized what could be done with that theory because even if it wasn't 100% complete, it was engineerable as a weapon of immense power, enough to make nukes look like firecrackers).  The author Joseph P. Farrell brings all this together pretty well, though it's in the context of weaponry created during WWII by the US and Germany.  He also makes a good case for this high energy kind of electricity and gravity in his books about the Giza Complex being an ancient weapon (which he clearly states is barely a hypothesis based on circumstantial evidence, so don't go getting worked up).  One of the only reason's that they say Einstein's unified field was incomplete was because it lacked explanation for the quantum forces (strong and weak nuclear).  But that doesn't mean that it didn't unify gravity and electromagnetism.

You gotta keep in mind that we're talking about things like free energy, interstellar travel, teleportation, maybe even time travel, and of course, weaponry beyond comprehension.  It makes sense to me that "some people" wouldn't like normal folks like us knowing about it and more importantly, experimenting with it.  Which is what Kurt does and why he says that we need to research on our own.  And he's 100% right.

Richard Hoagland is a FRAUD!!!!! He doesn't believe his own science. I know this.

I see what the PM was in response to now.

I was strictly bringing up the evidence he has put together about NASA's less than honest and honorable behavior, not his work on Mars or the Moon.  Just NASA.  The NASA stuff I believe.  The people who started NASA were some of the most well known Nazi's (like Von Braun), Magicians (occultists - I forgot the guys name, but one of the founding JPL members was good buddies with Crowley and.......L RON!) and Masons (most of the Apollo crews were freemasons, a Mason ritual was even performed on Apollo 11 when they touched down on the moon).  Plus, the alignment of dates (especially the Apollo program) really was in some crazy alignment with Egyptians myth.  And, I'm really interested in the physics Hoagland brings up, though I go to other sources for more information.  In fact I've been getting really interested in people like Tesla and some of the less well known electrical engineers who crossed the line between physics and electricity (and magnetism).  Hoagland's moon and mars stuff though.....I can't get behind that stuff 100% without more evidence and so I will leave Cydonia and the Moon till the future when we actually get a human standing "face to face" as it were with the evidence.  Of course, I'd have to trust that NASA will be honest......and we have come full circle.

Yea I had a young customer the other day who was talking about Ozzy and I told them that I liked that old Sabbath kind of rock better and the kid was like "wtf does that have to do with Ozzy?!".  I just sighed and said "nevermind, i was mistaken to include myself in this conversation".

I don't disagree stillwater.

But at the same time, the way we handle scientific inquiry these days doesn't really provide much for faith.  So the fact that some authors don't cite sources doesn't always discourage me.  For example, a lot of Icke's moon theories come from that African guy (Credo) and how do you cite anecdotal evidence besides saying "this guy told me this"?

What I have noticed is that the really good authors acknowledge when their theory is entirely speculative.  Like Joseph P. Farrell (who incidentally has proposed a theory about space-nazis that have been living in a space colony since WWII) who wrote a trilogy about the Pyramids at Giza being a giant deathstar-esque weapon in ancient times.  He flat out says at the beginning of each book that this is just a hypothesis, it's not even supported with enough concrete evidence to be a theory.  He says that his evidence is circumstantial and his hypothesis is entirely speculative.  But, that doesn't mean its not true, and more importantly that questions like this shouldn't be asked (even when lacking "concrete scientific" evidence).

It is a balancing act though.  It takes a sharp mind to understand the subtle attitudes in these works and understand when the author is just proposing a speculative thought experiment versus a hard-science proposal.

Welcome to the pulse.

You "new" people drive me crazy sometimes (in a jealous way usually).  I busted my butt for the better part of 8 months to achieve my first conscious exit and that was after years of study and research.

Stick with it, you can do it.

This is a track I just wrapped up called Cydonia.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrJ3UwDki-0

I am posting the lyrics and the story that the song is telling.  It was a lot of fun coming up with this story and I really like it.

"CYDONIA"

flying over your salted plains
flying over your salted plains
your salted plains

[never before had so many people been attuned to one event at one time]

on my own
on my own

travelling over your windswept plains
looking for another brother under the cover
with a sweet smile gleaming and i wanna discover
another underground town looking for
subtle wonders on your salted plains
pining for your better days
spyin on your hidden ways

on my own

shutter bug, artifical fuzz on the compound
physical anomalies abound in the down town
eons are bound to the sound of the naysay
vacate once they've had their way

space station alpha, do you copy?
they told me i'd be on my own
so why am i not alone?

END TRANSMISSION.

Ok, so this story is about the first manned mission to Mars (thus the title, Cydonia).  The crew is in orbit around Mars and one astronaut goes out on a solo mission to set the "anchor" for a space elevator type device to send the equipment down to the surface.

This is where the song starts, with our solo astronaut flying over Mars in his lander.  What we don't know is that while our astronaut is flying over the surface he sees artificial structures all over the so-called "salted earth" of Mars (so he sings to himself to try and convince himself that Mars really is dead).  Then the isolation hits him, he suddenly realizes how far from Earth and any kind of rescue that he is.  That, combined with the cabin fever from the trip there  and the artificial structures he sees is beginning to drive him insane.  His muscle memory takes control of the lander and his mind spins off into oblivion just as he passes to the far side of Mars and out of communication range.  At this point he is singing to himself "On my own", in an effort to reassure himself that everything humans have learned about Mars says it's a dead planet and he is definitely alone.  But the reassurance only lasts a moment because that also reminds him of how isolated he is from humanity.  Now that he is out of communication with his crew his psyche is literally being torn apart by what he is experiencing.  Suddenly a transmission comes over his radio.  Which is obviously impossible since he's out of communications range.......

This is where the Martian starts rapping.  He is taunting the astronaut because he knows how unstable a human mind can be when subjected to the stress of space travel and the revelation that there is life on other planets in our solar system.  The Martian is essentially telling him that his people always knew that the martians were there and kept it a secret from him.  They sent him out of sheer curiosity, to see what the Martians would do.  He is expendable.

For a moment our astronaut regains his awareness, he returns to the reality of where he is and what is happening right now.  He makes a desperate plea to his crew to tell him why he's not alone when they told him he would be.

The transmission ends.  All that was recovered was this recording that had been relayed from somewhere on Mars to Space Station Alpha (the orbiting space station with the rest of our astronaut's crew).

The End.

From personal experience, I truly agree with Pauli here.

I really think that in nearly all cases, these kinds of entities are manifestations of personal psychological issues that everyone has.  Or they could be remnants of emotional energy that are attached to a person (usually theirs, but could belong to someone else).

see a shaman or look into shamanic techniques for "healing the shadow (self)" or soul retrieval.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Crystals?

You should research the use of crystals in modern (and ancient) scientific application.  They are amazing little hunks of matter.

The geometric patterns that make up the molecular foundation for crystals is very interesting indeed.

If you need to, think about it this way.  Our computers only exist because of crystals.  Crystals allow us to store and retrieve information.

Start playing with crystals, you'll see.  The first time you feel the rush of moldavite or the tingle of lapis on your 3rd eye, you'll believe.

I mean, have you never seen stargate?  lol.

his bro could have held the stones, made an elixir with them, seen an energy worker who used the stones, all kinds of techniques.
