Welcome to Astral Chat! / That special thing..
July 09, 2004, 00:48:27
I got the idea to this topic when I read the "the point in life where you stop" thread. I realised that I feel a bit ´stuck´ and low too. So here is one of the special things that I would like to do, one of my dremas so to say..
I think that it would be nice to get really close to nature, and be together with nature. There is a certain volcano/mountain quite far away from sweden that I would like to climbe, or perhaps not climbe but rather hike on. Waking up in the morning, feeling the fresh mountain air, the sun rising hig in the sky, looking down on the clouds underneath... and the smell of the salty air from the ocean that reaches up to this hight from the sea. Looking down at the sea around. I really feel that that would be what I would need right now, being in a beautifull natural environment, and just listening to nature al around... feeling the unity and peace.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / dejavu
April 10, 2004, 10:04:09
Has anybody experienced that the dejavu comes together with a feeling of dissiness and nausea, and leaving you drained of energy?
What could be the cause for this? Any ideas about what dejavu really is, just a trick of the mind or a real glimpse into the futre and then back again? What about dejavu in dreams?
Thanks for any interesting replies!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / dentistophobia
October 23, 2002, 04:15:20
Hi!
I have this huge problem right now- My dentist wants to do a whole load of stuff with my teah, amongst them two root-canals... and well- I don´t like the idea. Only the money I will have to pay for it is enough to give me a real depression.. but the second problem is that I just cann´t stand to go to the dentist. I really freak out when I go there. I get these panic attacs- rasing heart beat, and breathing difficultys together with strong panic. This is most unfortunate when you are suppoused to be lying still in the dentist chair with a whole armada of strange fingers and things in your mouth.

Ok- this might seem silly to people who have mastered there dentist fears- but I´m just not there jet..
I would appreciate any kinde of advise...

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Kirlian aura
July 06, 2002, 09:48:31
Ther was a russian scientist named V.K. Kirlian who did experiments with
some thing he named "bio-plasma" a kind of energy that emanated from living beeings. He even managed to build a kamera that could take pictures of this energy. The energy is wery similar to what we call an aura.
The energy is said to have been strongest around the eyes, spine, brain and finger tips. I think it was called the Kirlian aura.
Has anybody else heard more about this? perhaps even seen some pictures taken with kirlians camera?

Hi!
I am curios about one thing- how is the relation between
time perception in the physiacll world and the astral?
Lets´s say that you do an astral projektion for five minutes
measured with the time of the physicall world and body-
Would it be five minutes on the astral too? or can the time
perception speed up/slow down compared to the physicall?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / 50% nasty..
June 23, 2002, 01:18:46
My brother has a wife and a smal child. Until he meet his wife some three or four years ago we had a wery good relation, but now it has changd.
She dosn´t like me, and he always has to be with her. So I cann´t visit my brother (because his evil woman is there) and he cann´t visit me for unknown reasons. Well a year ago they got a child... and now my dilemma is this- even thoug I know that the child is a free spirit- looking at it I still see
half of it beeing part of my brothers family and half of it beeing part of  my brothers wife..
I simply cann´t like that child because I dislike it´s mother. I know in one way it´s rediciolus- but at the other han, children ofte grow up to be pretty much like there parents.. and anyway I guess that the mother who dislikes me will get the kid to dislike me too.

I have seen this happen. The parents of a friend of mine got divorced when he was perhaps 12-14 years... and his mother who he lived with managed to turn him into hate is fater with constant slander and propagande.
I know that teh father was a decent man, and I feel sorry for both my friend and his father.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Bedroom/temple
June 22, 2002, 06:59:15
I have a two room apt, one living room and one bedroom. I have thought
about turning the bedroom into a temple and move the bed into the living room.
I do prefere to have the bed in the bedrooom though... I know that soem people have the bed in the temple, or the temple in the bedroom..
Anybody who has any ideas about this? Is it OK to have the bedroom as a temple- or is it really worth putting the bed in the livingroom and only have the other room as a temple?

This weekend we hade a big holiday here in sweden called midsommar (mid summer), and most people go out celebrataing- usually getting pretty drunk.
So I was talking to some other people my age at my summer work, and they where really surprised that I wasn´t going to go out partying. I told them that I would sitt home instead reading books on occultism.. - they looked at me as if I was mad. I notice over and over that people have little understanding when on stays home alone in the weekends to read.
But I´m not crazy! - I´m just a student of the occult- and that takes much time!
but people never seem to get this...

I am wery intersetd in what asanas or posture you use when doing energy work and mediatation.

Pleas answer these questions:

1. In what asana(posture) do you meditat? and waht effect dose this asana have?
2. In what position do you do energy work, and what effect dose this have on the energy work?
3. If you ever have had a wery strong mediation or energy rasing experience- what asana/ position where you in?

I will love to read all of your answers- and I think that sharing this
might help others!

I did my NEW and trance mediation today wearing a bright red t-shirt.
I usually wear more neutral coloures. It is said that coloures can have a greta effect on peopel and energys. I have never given this much thought and guessed that if there really is such an effect, it probably is pretty marginal.
After al there are so many outer influences, such as sounds, moods, warmth, coold and al the energy influences from outside, that coloure probably has a wery minor port.

But today during meditation I feelt quite strange, I got a hot sensation in the upper body.. this could be due to the warm summer weather too- I don´t know. But it got me intersegted. I will try and experiment with it.

Have you got any other ideas on outer influences- whitch there are, and what effect they have? - would be interseting to study further.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What is Magick?
June 04, 2002, 00:27:26
I have realised lately that my owne wiev on magick and it´s
possibilitys seem to be different than others on this forum.
So why not start a topic for a magick discussion!

So here we go!

I belive that magick is a way of evolving on the inner planes,
a way of reaching spiritual strengh and development, not to
change the wather or materialize things.

Magick is WERY difficult, and it is HARD to acheive changes on the
physical plane with magick. It´s not like in the fancy hollywood movies..

Of course you could psychically attac soembody, but that would be rather
on the inner plane then on the outer one- and no seroius magcikan would
do that anyway.. only unmature people do that... and I gues that it will lead them down the left hand path and finally to extiction..

The magickans I know al have the goal of inner development. They are real spiritual people with spiritual goals.

Many schools say that it is bad to mix different systems. For example, one should not do tai chi and NEW at the same time. I have a hard time beliviving this though. I do not se any wrong in using different systems at the same time. So any comments on this one? Is it a problem to mix NEW, qui gong, kundalini and tantra?

I have become wery interested in Kunadlini lately, it seems to be a wery
potent way of raising energy. Dose anybody know more about it?
Perhaps if someone out there is practicing, it would be wery nice if you could sum up a short tutorial- I would just love to try working with kundalini, but have no money at al right now, so buying a book about to learn it is out of the question right now. So basically I´m dependent on some kind soul telling me how to do it.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / the lost topic

Is it a problem to do NEW after drinking a few beers? I really don´t mean doning it in a drunk state, but rather after a glas or two of vine or some beers. The same goes for meditation- a small amount has a relxing effect on the mind (and the body?). Concentration might get a bit harder, but relaxation might get easier. And how NEW is effected by alcohol is an interesting question to. Obvously, to much alcohole wil give concentration problems, but above from that? I would love to hear some opinions!

As descartes said as he emtied the poison cup -"I drink therefore I am"
- or was it sokrates??  ( lol :)

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Evning habits
May 03, 2002, 12:08:09
I always spend the last hour before going to sleep, sitting
in my semi-dark room (only candle light) and listen to some
ethnic ambient.. or other relaxing atmospheric music.
This will usualy be somewhere between 21:00 - 23:00
I really need this meditative hour to unwinde, and think things
through. And I really love to sitt there in the darkness, and perhaps look
out on the moon or the sky.. and enjoy the beautifull stillnes.
Usually I sitt the last minutes without any lights at al- it´s
wery peacefull and beautifull.

Dose anybody else have this same habit?

Has anybody tried mantra meditation?
I tried to sit and recite the Hare Krishna mantra ( hey, after al why not?- it´s a good mantra- and it really dosn´t matter..), but realised that I didn´t know WHEN to gasp for air..

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare  (and it rimes.. it´s wery trance inducing..)

But when should one find the time to breath??

I have also played around with using a mantra while walking- it has pretty cool effects!
I used this classic one :
Aum Mani Padme Hum

This means something like - oh jewel in the lotus flower..
( if anybody has a word for word translation- pleas tell me!!)

It is pretty god to walk to, one word for eath step, and you get a nice four step cycle..

As always I´d love to hear al yr opinions on this!!

Buenas noches!

Welcome to Metaphysics! / fundamentalism
April 30, 2002, 09:40:13
Most people seem to like to have an authoritan hand controling
them that they can trust in order not to have to think fro them selfe.
This is not only so in religion, but in many semi-religious political
Ideologys too.

It is said that Martin Luther gave the people religios authority,
but I have to say that I disagree. The people of the reformation
where still slaves under the bible. Even thoug they had the right
to read it, they hade no right to disbelive it..

I have had the pleasure to study many different religious groups,
and have come to the conclusion that almoust all religious people
choose to be fundamental slaves of  there religion(more or less..).

I can give an good example. I used to hang out with the people
from the Falun Gong movement and practise with them. The
master of the Falun Gong movement Li Hongzhi, has written a
book that is the foundation for the movement. Well, so now having
read that book and seen that he on many points seem to share the
wievs of other sytems. There are some parts that obviously
are religious babble too.. I tried to discuss the metaphysics with some
of the people of the movement, and it turn out that they belived
EVERY WORD of the book.. and without any rational proof.
They actaully read the book over and over continiously.. quite
scarry. They where opposed even to the idea of discussing the
ideas of the book with rational mind..

I hade the pleasure of having a loong discussion with a ISCON
devoti, he seemd both inteligent and educated. I tried to discuss the
metaphysicall part of the Hare Krishna movement, compare
it with othere sytems and symbol languages to look at
differences and similaritys with them- but he really didn´t
like that.. As soon as you start to compare a system with other
systems the fundamentalists get really scared- they just don´t
whant to think for themselfes..

The only way to find some truth in al this religious and metaphysical
Jungle, one has to compare all systmes in search for similaritys-
If some things come back in many different systems, there jusr
Might be some universal truth behinde them.

A funny thing is that almoust all groups are like this-
The most liberal group I have ever meet is the Thelemic
movemennt. But, even the Thelemites have the nasty
habit of legitimising everything with there holy book –
"Liber Al". But of course the one rule of thelema is pretty
free- "Do what thou wilt shal be the whole of the law.."
But they still legitimise al kinds of things with phrases
From the holy book. Why do they need a holy book to live
after that rule?

And of course the same goes for the big religions, but a thousand
times worse.. just look at Christianity, Islam, Buddhism.. They are
all belife systems that are built on blinde belife..

I cannot help wondering why? Why are people so terrified of
making there own judegments, and think for them selfe?
Why should always someone else then oneslef eknow better?
How is it that exactly a certain Li Hongzhi is telling the truth?
(even though There are thousands of other religious leaders that
make the same claim on the turth out there..).

How can I belive in a system when there are thousand others?
If I say –" I am a christian because of the bible and Jesus.."
Well, then what about buddha and Bhagavad-gita? What
About Li Hongzhi an Sai Baba? What about A.C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada? What about Mohamed and the koran,
Or the jews and there Thora..

They all have SO good reasons that exactly there system is the
only true one..

If I know that there are so many different systems that all have
prophets and divine visions to build on, then how can I just
choose one and then blindly runn around and belive?

Just some food for the thought..

Bless ya al!

There seems to be a large group of people who belive that the Qui Ging
practices raises energy, and even cures diseases. I would like to know if anybody has any ideas about how this should be suposed to work. After al moving your body slowley- why on earth should that rais energy? Or is it the "meditative" part of it that raises energy. I have been practicing Qui Gong myselfe, but stoped doing it again because no one could give any good explenation on how it works.
I feel that sitting down in lotus gives me the same feeling as qui gong movements.

If the channels that are opened with Qui Ging are of the etheric body, and not the physicall one- why not open them with mental exercises? (like in the NEW system)

I´m wery eager to hear some opinions on this one!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Know thy selfe!
April 26, 2002, 07:23:42
I wery giddily said "be yourselfe!" on the BALD thread.
This is naturally easier said then done, for how many really
know themselfe? Most people have a constantly changing
"persona" (greek="mask"). To this persona they attribute
new things everyday. And I am no exception!  I could think
of a bunch of different "persons" or "urges" in myselfe that
actually go against each other.

I can mention a few.. I have on asketik ideal, and at the same time
really love my big apartment and my stereo. I have on urge to leav
this country and one urge to stay where my family is. I have on
person who whants to dig deep into the occult secrets of rituall magic
and one mystic who ask what´s the point of it- why don´t just sit down and
meditate like buddha?  One social person and one pretty unsocial.
And then add on top of this the moods, sometimes happy and loving
soemtimes depressed and angry... And well this is only the beginning
of a large list of different aspects of me.

So what is there unsderneath the different masks? Is there such a
thing as a true self, a possibility of beeing one self? Or are we
humans just a bunch of contradictory ideas?

I think that there actually is soemthing in the core of the soul that
if it would be found could be described as a true self. I think that
in day to day life most people are not fully aware of exactly what this
is, and thus jump between different ideas and selfs, to fullfill the
urges of the self in the best way thay can at the moment. But because
the self is deep down it often is blurry and people only see it vagely
and sometimes not at al. So outer influences can affect people to
go in different directions. Sopcail masks are built, that fit into the different
socail groups that one interacts with, and that are changing as the
environment around oneselfe changes. But these are all not the true
self- they are only mask of protection, of habit, that grov stronger
as time passes and as they are used..

Perhaps art and music are the only ways  of breaking through to the
innermost self of the soul, and that´s why we are so touched by the
symbols of art, poetry and movies.

I think that spiritual work and meditation are ways of finding the slef.

Let´s all fall down in Lotus!!

I hope you have been able to uderstand at least a little bit of my mad
babbeling J

Bless ya!

Felix

Hi!

I have thought about going abroad to study.. in the US or in Australia.
Perhaps some of you who actaually live there could tell me a bit about how the universitys work and how life in general is where you live. I would like to go to the south of the US or the north of Australia- perhaps Brisbane. I have heard that there are many really dangerous spiders in the Sydney area...

I would love to hear some ideas!!!!

Hey Adrian, I have to appoligize for my earlier posts.. I see now that you have done a great work, and spent a lot of time for a really good cause(this forum), and many of the new functions are great.. the cocki is super!

The only downs are that we seem to have lost winged wolf, and she was a wery valuable member- I really loved her posts...
And the other thing.. the filed where one wrights the posts and the PMs could be a bit bigger... I think they are a bit to smal.. but that´s probably just a matter of taste.

Well, well..

Cheers!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / A-holes
April 21, 2002, 01:23:49
There are some pretty sick people out there!
I was out biking on the biking way, and this man comes biking from the other
direction, so like all normal people I go to the right side of the biking way.. but to my surprise he seets on an head on course towards me, so I go as far as possible to the right...on the border of actually going down into the grass on the side of the road. But this individuall just dosn´t move an inch and heads right towards me- I hit the breaks not to crasch into him (he was biking slower than me -and breaks too) so there we stand - and then he tells me -This is a one way bike street! you where going the wrong way....

And Yes, I was baffled! ...What do you responde to something like that?
Yes, it might be a one way biking street- what do I know?  But everyone uses it in both directions. And its broad enough to take to bikes..

The amazing thing is that this A-hole whent to al the trouble of stoping me in that redicioulus way just to be able to tell me I was doing something wrong..

When I think about it- what ever posseses a person to do such a thing ?
He obviously saw that I did my uttermost to go out of his way and stay on the right side of the road... but no- that´s not enough for him.

Well, these things happen al the time-- One is out minding ones own business
.. and then some a-hole comes and starts to interfere.

I don´t know how to react in such a situation.
I have three possible alternatives:
1. Ignore them ( usually they get even angrier)
2. try to reason with the ( usually works bad..)
3. Shout back ...( ? )

As long as I´m minding my own business, and not hurting anybody else, I really feel that people should  get of my back. I always treat people with respect, and thus demand some respect back.

But when things like this happen I really feel like slapin em right in the face..

Any thoughts about this?
