Greetings all,
I am 32 years old and have recently begun to have an immense interest in the whole astral thing. I've been a very Spiritual individual my whole life (more specifically, an open minded Orthodox Christian) and have always been very introspective and meditative, so when I started to research AP and what not, it just caught my attention in a major way.
Anyhow, I have one experience to share and if anyone could give me any feedback I'd love it. Here goes...

This happened one night about 3 years ago: I was asleep as usual and woke up just enough to find myself in sleep paralysis (I had experience SP only twice before). As soon as I felt this, I immediately felt myself almost "thrust" upwards towards the ceiling and a VERY loud roar (almost train-like) was deafening. I don't know how quickly this happened, but I knew I was facing into the ceiling, yet I couldn't see it (felt blind). I did however feel a very VERY strong sense that my body was being forced upwards but wouldn't go any further than the ceiling despite the momentum. I remember trying to make sense of it in my head as it was happening ("is this the rapture!?" heh heh). I don't know how long it lasted but it came to a quick end and I found myself awake in bed (it was the middle of the night). I felt scared afterwards, but not terribly frightened, and to this day I remember the feeling of it all as if it were a very real event.
What the hell happened!?!?
I still have sleep paralysis about once a month or every two months, but nothing even remote to this story has happened since.
I am ever intrigued.

Thank you in advance!

every event I have experienced related to the astral has been very personal.  As much as I wish I had an answer for you I dont.  I think you should research the FAQ's section and settle on a technique for projection and just go with it.  Its obvious through your paralysis experiences and the fact you where drawn to this site that you are open to it.  I know people who at the mear mention of SP or AP they look at me like im crazy.  It is a gift, given by the Lord or otherwise.  Use it to learn what this reality is about.  Use it to get closer to God.  I wish you luck.

Jimi - I have experienced what you had had numerous times. When you get to that stage where your body is sleeping but your mind is awake. With the correct mind set or exit technique, you can make your astral body leave the physical body. When this happens on exit, you will feel extremely intense sensations just as you described! If you do a post search on some of my experiences, you will see they are almost identical.
It is quite a scary sensation and you have to be brave to keep going forwards with it, it will stop after you fully exit.

Good luck with the next time.
