I don't know about you.... but... Why does it seem that 90% of my AP's involve being in the star fields?  Any ideas or does this happen to any of you?

They were a looong time ago. Head towards the centre of the galaxy next time and post your findings.
There's far more where the eye can't see.

Yes, I experience this quite a bit as well. I think you are returning back to your heritage, what you once knew. The Star systems I find myself in are totally different than our current Solar System here. But I do see our Solar System as I am warping towards other. The visuals always starts slow, but excel quite quickly.
