Are Gateway tapes/Cd's worth getting?

Hi Harvey,

Thanks for the post. I seem to like the structure of the Wave 1 Track 2 to get the ball rolling. The visualization part is what I've been working on. There are times that I think I'm in focus 10, but I'm not so sure anymore.

Frank's posts (and other people too) have all been helpful. So the cd is something we can experiment with as you've done too. My plan is to continue along a while and see what develops.

Also, I like what I've learned from Robert Bruce's book Astral Dynamics, that is, getting to a relaxed state, trance, and doing his NEW system. I've been doing the RB method since early this year and it has definite results with the energy work. No obe yet though.

So I'm doing both that and the cd now which is an interesting mixture. Still in the experimental stage. I like the idea of the hemispheric synchronization as well.

Please keep us posted on your experiences.

From my experience I had to discontinue using hemi sync/wave 1 and even the NEW system (combined) from robert bruce because it was causing head pains when I do body awareness exercises and when I have sex (too much energy to the head causing pain) results may vary in others.  The only three things I am going to do which everyone agrees upon is to do the staring at objects and close the eyes technique and retain the image, being consciously aware of what you're doing all day and eliminating the ego's, commanding body parts to relax and doing the 5-6 hour technique ie wakeup after 5hours wash your face, then after 30mins go back to sleep for next few hours (I got many results with this), you can checkout mysticweb.org they have free courses on astral projection/esoteric/self knowledge courses they explained the ego thing in detail and made me understand what is the projection of the mind (ie dreams) and true obe's and can't wait for the other lessons that explain how to abolish ego's they explain the 5-6hour technique there as well so does stephen laberge at lucidity.com (read the faq).

weagle,

Thanks for the post. We all seem to be seeking an obe, and are each experimenting with known methods that, hopefully, will bear some constructive results. So, I'm still at the point that I described in an earlier post, of experimenting with RB's method and Monroe's.

Let us know how the other methods work. All input is valuable. Thanks for posting those two web links also.

Hi Weagle,

Do you still get head pains?

If you do it might be because of some kind of congestion of energy in your head. A good thing i learned to help with this is to draw your energy down from your head to your feet and up to the sub-navel region Bruce talkes about, 2-3 times a day. Another thing that helps is keeping your tounge placed on the roof of your mouth while moving energy to and from your head and body.

I been using the Gateway Experience CD:s for two years and they do work. They may not produce results while listening but many times after the CD track has finished by itself.

One thing to remember:  it is NOT the CD that induce the OBE. It is you. I would say the skill to induce an OBE is 90% based on intention and motivation and only 10% is technique.

Hi Sasser,

First of all, I would like to complement you on a great website. I discovered it last month and have gone back to it a number of times. The articles and reviews are very worthwhile.

Thank you for your input regarding the Gateway cds, and the advice regarding motivation and intent. What I was curious about was whether you have been using all the Waves or just Wave-1? If you have been using every Wave set (up to Wave-VII) would you recommend buying them all? All I have been working with is Wave-1. There are two different opinions that I've read at this forum where some people advocate all the cds, and others just Wave-1.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Nick, I've been doing the meditation series since January and am at level 2 of the Gateway program under the training of an accredited Monroe Institute facilitator. I have done up to Focus 21 but currently am feeling very comfortable with getting to Focus 12 easily on my own or with hemi-sync tones. F12 is a very intuitive state that brings on synthesia..a different way to communicate...it's best described as being expansive as the mind or consciousness can reach out or expand to where it wants to be..also known as the "Pillsbury Doughboy Effect". I would say, yes it's worth buying the tapes/CDs...but I also recommend trying to find a good facilitator. We work in small groups for a couple of hours each week and have homework to practice. But the tapes are self-guiding...it's just good to have someone else to share the experience with. Look forward to hearing how you make out. I'm off to a session now. Cheers...

Source2Energy,

Thanks for the nice post! Since I wrote my original query back on April 3rd, I've bought and have been using the Wave-1 cds. Having gone through them a number of times, I've found that I like using one particular track right now (disk 1, track 2 of the 3 cd set).

Did you go about finding a facilitator through the Monroe Institute? I live in Ventura, California which is about an hour and fifteen minutes north of LA. Maybe there are facilitators in this area.

I may be interested in purchasing the Wave II cds. At this point, I think I may be experiencing Focus 10 at times. It would be nice to talk with others similarly situated to relate experiences with though.

Let me know, if you get a chance, just how you went about finding a facilitator. Meanwhile, I'm going to visit the Monroe Institue and Hemi-Sync websites to see if I can learn about it there.

Hi Nick,

By a stream of random events, the Monroe Institute came to me...what do they say...when a teacher is needed...he/she will be there! My teacher/facilitator is originally from France and was trained at the Monroe Institute in Virginia. He is located in my city home city of Winnipeg (midwest Canada)and I understand there is an newer facility in Montreal that he has attended for programs. He also sells the CDs and tapes (there is a website I can point you to)...probably get good value for your $US. Good selection of Hemi-Sync music as well.

No doubt you have experienced F10 many times...ever find yourself mesmerized driving along the highway....ever zone out at a boring meeting??? That's F10...in fact, I now use it for those boring business meetings...I look attentive, but my consciousness is fully absorbed in things I want to do (i.e. mind awake and body asleep). To quote an article..."Various extraordinary abilities such as clairsentience, clairvoyance and hypersentience are possible in F10"

We had neat results last evening in F12...working in partners we set up an energy field between us while in F12...a sender prepared a question and sent it out to the universe...the receiver retrieved the question (this is all mentally) and recorded the response. In comparing the notes afterwards...it was very intuitive and responses were appropriate. A bit of a game but also a good test to see where this can take you. We practice on our own as well, but the facilitated approach gives you a sense of being guided (and we use all types of guidance)and prepared for the different skill levels.

I'll try to answer your questions...being a nubie myself I'm sure you will find others in your locale that are much more experienced. I have been fascinated with this part of life for ever (my teacher tells me I am many thousands of years old from another world and here only to check out Earth because it was highly recommended...well Happy Earth Day Everyone!)Hope to hear more of your experiences. Off to yoga (another good opportunity to sink into the meditative state with excellent results)...Grab some energy...Cheers:))

Nick

Greetings Source2Energy,

Good hearing from you! Am looking forward to continuing on with the Hemi-Sync studies and seeing what awaits. Right now I'm getting my sessions rolling with the Wave-1 cds, and fortunately, nice things are starting to happen.

Sounds like you have a great group of people up there!

Very best,

they're less I ain't doing anymore body awareness/hemi sync til it subsides completely.  I have been doing robert bruce's body awareness like you mentioned full circuit from feet upto the head then from head to subnaval still the head is active somehow and the hemisync just amplifies it a thousand fold or something regardless if I do body awareness exercises or not the brain gets super sensitive then when say I do sex ie blood starts rushing around the body faster as the heart beats faster I start to get the pains but they are less now for now I am just doing what I said I will do which can help one achieve obe since whats the sense of ob'ing if it's a projection of the mind (false obe?) you still have to work on concentration/eliminating ego's and awareness exercises anyways, anyone can pull off an obe by doing the 5-6hour technique mind 50% of the time stays awake and alert while body false off to sleep.

Greetings Nick from north of the 49th, wishing you a beautiful day and much success with your energy work. Happy exploring!

weagle,

Just an update in light of your recent post. Since I've integrated the Wave-1 cds into what I've been doing, I've had to make some adjustments.

Like you, I was doing the full body circuit, as I wrote earlier. Now, what seems to work is for me to do the Wave-1 cds, with just a little bit of the NEW at the moment. I find I'm implementing a greater percentage of Monroe than Bruce at this time.

Everthing is experimental, and we all may react differently, as you know. You are right, doing both can be intense. So, perhaps the outlook should be to be flexible, and that's exactly what you're doing. Best of luck.

Nick

After reading a good deal of posts I believe I may be like a number of you. It seems like I have come very close to separation but yet can't say I've had a full conscious exit projection.

Relaxation and trance seem good. Energy work is good. Pre-OBE sensations that I get include: tingling type vibrations, whirring/humming sounds at times in my ears, some popping at times in the ears, falling sensations, floating sensations that seem like I'm rising upward. Also I've seen hypnogogic images, what appears to be some light through closed eyelids, and the occassional pinpoint of light. I'm probably forgetting something but that's most of it.

Now to the question: with all of what I've been experiencing does anyone feel it would be worthwhile to buy the Gateway series?
I have read many of you mention Focus and other terms which I'm not familiar with. Does anyone have some advice re whether the Gateway tapes/cds would be an assist at this point?

Thanks in advance for your time in responding.
