Nick,
I've been using wave 1 of the gateway series, and i think i'm getting some results from it. It seems to put me into what they refer to as focus 10 (mind awake/body asleep) more reliably than i can do on my own. Also... i just ordered the rest of the gateway series and should be recieving it in the mail within a couple days. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted if i find them to helpful.

Thanks for the reply nstkd8/nathan. Maybe that's what I should do. Buy the first wave and see how it works for me. I'll look forward to reading what you have to say about the rest of the series when you're ready to do so.[^]

Follow up - since I first posted this (along w/ a similar query in the Astral Consciousness forum) I received some links and suggestions.

I've read over prior posts on Astral Phasing and focus levels. Next, I went to the Monroe Institue website and read over the Hemi-Sync FAQ's.

Lastly, I decided to order the Wave I CD's and try them for a while. Adrian recommended the book Ultimate Journey by Robert Monroe which I've purchased.

Thanks to all. This forum is a great reservoir of knowledge. I appreciate it very much.

i've been trying the binaural sounds for a month and a bit with the gateway series, I had to stop because it appears it creates too much energy in my head area if I have sex/masturbate I start feeling sharp pains in my head, however if I stop listening to the hemisync cd's after a week or so it disappears so it looks like I can't use the tapes as often as I want to but I do get a physical reaction to it though even if i afterwards do it on my own.

I have been using the Gateway Series for a few years now.  It is definately worth every penny.  The Gateway Series by the Monroe Institute is nothing short of amazing.  It will teach you how to achieve several distinct states of awareness and you will be able to use these in your projection work.  It also uses many of the same techniques or variations of the techniques that Robert Bruce describes in Astral Dynamics.  The series will allow you to learn how to move your brain/mind/astral body into these different states of awareness at will - regardless of if you are trying to project or just walk down the sidewalk.  The best thing about them is that once you master the different focus levels you will be able to apply them to all aspects of your life.  When you can shift your own awareness it is like many of the drugs that are out on the streets.  People take them to change the way they feel and experience life.  When you learn to make these electro-chemical shifts on your own your ability to percieve outside of the physical is dramatically increased.

weagle,

If I were you I would probably post a query on the Astral Consciouness forum re your situation. As at the moment I am just learning about Wave-1. There are a lot of members who might offer you some good advice.

Tellman,

Thank you very much for your informative post. It's good to read your endorsement as I just purchased the Wave-1 cds and am looking forward to them.

Having been doing the Robert Bruce method of NEW energy work, and astral work every day for a number of months, I look forward to integrating the Monroe Institute cds.

Hi guys, I've been reading your conversation on these CD's and have looked on the internet for them...looks like the first set is $90-99. Anyways, I'm just beginning to read ASTRAL DYNAMICS. Would you recommend that I get these CD's and start using them now? Or would you recommend me getting them upon completion of the book?

Nick

Dr NoX,

You'll have to hear what some of the others have to say with regard to the Monroe Institute Wave-1 cds, as I've been working only on the Astral Dynamics book by Robert Bruce for a number of months. You certainly should read his book. I plan on using/integrating the Wave-1 cds when I receive them from the Monroe Institute.

However, others more experienced with the hemi-sync cds may have more detailed information for you. I'd suggest checking out the Astral Consciousness forum. Maybe even posting your question there.
I've gotten some excellent responses from members on another post of mine in that forum.

Hello

I've now reached wave 7 of the Gateway cds.  I've found that the exercises have provided me with many high quality experiences but tend to feel that I'm not really getting any closer to having an out of body experience using these exercises.  I get the vibrations and feelings of deep relaxation but find that nothing really happens other than that, I can spend any amount of time with strong vibrations, thinking of floating upwards, but never leave my body and so tend to feel that, if there is a secret in how to leave your body, the cds have not taught me what it is, at least up to this point in time.

Having said that, I still feel that the experience has been very worthwhile, but just not in having an oobe.

Brian

Nick

Brian,

Thank you for your post and for sharing your experiences. My plan, when I receive the Wave-1 cds from the Monroe Institute, is to try to integrate those experiences into the Astral Dynamics methods that I have been using so far. I guess all we can do is to keep experimenting with methods of relaxation, trance and so on. Hopefully, persistence will be the key to success.

I have not yet reached wave 7, but my experiences with the gateway cd's do not seem to be leading to an OBE. I'm not yet sure if they are of any value... but i'll keep you posted.

Albert

Nick I am planning to do the same, work with NEW and the gateway experience. I've been using them for a while now, mainly focus 3 and 10 but I cannot reach f10 especially in such a short time. They are great for relaxing, and I use them to try WILD afterwards since hemi-sync does seem to have an effect. Ultimate Journey was a great book though, and it's always good to see others' perspectives on OBE.

Good luck
Whoever's using hemi-sync, keep us posted on progress.

Nick

Albert,

Thanks for the post. Just returned home from work and found the Wave I - Discovery CD package in my mailbox from the Monroe Institute. Now I can try using and learning the hemi-sync cds w/ what I've been doing so far (Astral Dynamics method).

Almost finished reading Ultimate Journey. Just one chapter left. Great book! Next,I'll read Robert Monroe's other two books.

I agree, it's good to see other people's points of view on spiritual topics like AP/OBE.

Nathan,

Thanks for the post. Since I have yet to start with Wave-1 (maybe tonight)I don't know at this moment what experiences  to expect.

You might want to post a question along the lines of what you've been experiencing (or not experiencing) on this or the Astral Consciousness forum.

In any event, I'll be interested to hear how things develop for you with the Wave cds.

Stephen

Hello  Ive been using Holosync CDs for the last 3 weeks and up to now Ive had two OBEs Ive used the rope method since thats the only thing that works for me .The only trouble the experience isnt as clear as when I dont use the  CDs . Since I only manage about one OBE per year with out the Holosync technology and find getting into a trance state to hard I will keep using Holosync. can any one give me the web addressfor the CDs you guys where talking about.
 Many thanks Stephen

Nick

Stephen,

The website that I went to was for the Monroe Institute. Once at the website I followed the links to Hemi-Sync. There, I bought the Wave-1 cds over the internet. Here are the links:

http://www.hemi-sync.com/index2.htm

I'm not familiar with the Holosync cds you mention, are they binaural sound cds also?

Nick

Stephen,

Thanks for posting that website on Holosync. I've learned of some interesting sites to visit since I began reading posts on this forum.

I have worked with Getaway experience (21 Cds). Eventually I gave up and have stopped to us them.
This is my experience with using it.
Whole series is based on hemi-sync "binaural" sound and guided instructions. It did not help me to achieve OBE . Main reason for it was (I think) that every time I've started to get into altered state of conscience voiced guidance totally disrupted my concentration.
Let me put it this way if the first set does not help you to get OBE rest of series will not help either. If the first set helps you to get OBE you do not need the rest.
Never less I would recommend it may work for you and please do not make your decision strictly based on my posting , because other people are quite satisfied with it.
I wish you happy OBEying.

Nick

delure,

Thanks for the post. I only bought Wave-1 and will likely not buy any more. I've been listening to them for a short while and tend to like the 2nd part of the first Cd. After I listen to that and get into it, I take off the headphones when he starts to bring me out. Then I just continue on myself.

I think that maybe after a while of doing this I'll just go back to working without any cd. However, for now I'm giving it a try.

It's a learning experience, and I've been learning. This website has a lot of knowledgeable people including you, so welcome aboard.

My experience with binaural was not very good at all. For me it actually set my progress back. It set me back because binaural makes you give up conscious control over some of the functions of your brain that elicit a consciously controled oobe. The result of binaural was a dependancy on the gadget in order to have an oobe. I think an important aim when learning to have oobe is to gain conscious control over the experience not give it up to a gadget.

Nick

noitarbiv,

Thanks for the post. The jury is still out on the cds with me as I have only been using them for less than a week. The only set I bought was Wave-1. I don't see any reason to buy any more. From what most people are saying the others aren't very useful.

It may well be that I'll go back to not using any cds before long, however, I think I'll give them a little try first.

Hi Nick, I've been using the Wave 1 track 2 since 7th April as posted on your other thread. It has been a very worthwhile and interesting exercise. The visualisation that Frank goes to great length to illustrate has been a key component. I tried to invent my own but got frustrated with the too many options and opted to use Franks senario with my own modifications added to suit me.

Learning to ballance the conscious awearness by keeping attention on the senarios at hand and not drifting of into dreams/sleep has been dificult but starting to pay off. There have been days when I've thought its a wast of time and a bit gimmicky to be using my imagination this way but the last two times have had very real outcomes for me.

I'm not 100%sure if I'm even reaching F10 state yet, but there is definatly a lot of new activity , subtle vibration, and switching between the "protective sense of awearness" which is as Frank says is something that we get used to. I actually got excited as I as I began the exercise these past two runs with the cd.

It's dificult for me to have the perfect circumstances at present as it is school holidays and three kids running round the house during the times I prefer to put the CD/phones on.

I'm now looking forward to each oppertunity I get to use the cd/exercise as I know it is leading me toward something worthwhile.

Hope this helps Nick -

Cheers
