As Volgerle states, absolutely. Many people do this without even knowing this is what they are doing. Quite often you will hear it termed very differently and usually as regards children but honestly it is the same thing. Ready for that term... hear it is,

Daydreaming.
Hence the term "in the zone". Many athletes have reported conscious OBEs while 100% focused on their chosen sport. Their physical senses/ focus suddenly become a afterthought and they are just "there"!

Do you ever notice when watching a good movie or TV show that your body is beginning to tingle and possibly dislocate a tad? This is caused by being deeply focused on something outside of physical self, aka Phasing.

The more you engage in this practice in general, meditation/Phasing/OBEs, the more you become aware of everything in and around you.!

But walking in a "Daydream" or not being conscious of your surroundings has it's negatives as well. As seen in the number of people that fall off cliffs, walk into cars/traffic, etc. while totally focused on their cellphones. That seems to be happening more and more these days!  :-o  There are many times and situations that being in the "here and now" is must!

I might post some of my more recent OBEs or maybe will provide some links to interesting OBE reports on youtube.
Cool!  8-) I look forward to reading or listening to them!  :-)

Speaking of the "Dweller Phenomenon", how many of you that are reading this right now have had their own Dweller experience? You don't have to elaborate into details. Just a show of hands will do. Unless of course you want to share. Then we are all ears.

I ask this because we always look for "commonalities" in this practice and from what I have heard in the past and still hear today, it seems like quite a few of you were "introduced" to this Dweller bloke!  :? :|

It was many years ago. In my experience, I awoke/became conscious in full SP (sleep paralysis), which led to a full etheric OBE (out of body experience). When I got "out", he was just standing there staring at me. Talking to a good friend last night via the phone about this Dweller phenom, he also used the term "he" n his description of his own experience with this Dweller. I guess it was because the Dweller took on more of a masculine look, body shape and all. My guy was wearing a cloak. It was a faded burgundy color and I couldn't see a face at all. In my case, fear quickly turned into curiosity and we just stared at each other until I finally found myself back in my body. The time that elapsed was about a minute. It was a quick in and out, as most of our first experiences are. He kind of reminded me of that "Death" character with the sickle. Yet this guy didn't have the sickle and he wasn't in a black cloak. His cloak had color to it. That's the first time and the last time I ever saw him.

Xanth or the Moderators, if you wish, we can take this conversation to a new thread so we don't "hijack" the OPs/CEO's thread here.

Thanks for that link to CFT's comments on the 'Dweller', Lumaza, got me thinking on this a bit further. I used to think the 'Dweller' phenomenon was a kind of 'ego showdown' that we would be faced with further down the road of our progression through the art of AP, but maybe it reflects varying degrees of possible interference occurring at different times for many of us. In CEO's case, it may have culminated early because of a multitude of misperceptions. I agree with CFT that at times it appears externally-generated, and other times internally-generated and still other times a form of PR-based feedback interference.

Then again, maybe the 'Dweller' occurs fairly early for most of us, but like many other AP aspects described in occult literature it was clothed in arcane and mysterious language to confuse and frighten us away from the practice and doubt our own ability to learn unless we were admitted within that 'club'.|
This conversation is getting really good now. It's been awhile since the "dweller" was brought up here. ...and when it has been brought up in the past, we didn't really go in depth on the whats and whys of it.

QuoteThe question occurred to me that why can I relax deeply enough to manage an etheric exit with no problem? Or, why can I listen to a Hemi-Sync track and manage an astral or mental projection? All with absolutely no 'Dweller' interference. But if I become aware in the middle of the night, between or around REM periods, I can often encounter hypno effects and even a full-blown 'Dweller'?
I would say it's because the "dweller" phenom jolts you into conscious awareness immediately. With Phasing, as in using Hemi-sync, imagining, viualizing, etc, and having a astral or mental projection, we are consciously aware the entire time, so the "jolt to awareness" isn't necessary.

Here is that link to CFTraveller's post here. She has an interesting take on all of this. She speaks of the energy that you felt that had been sucked out of you in it as well.

And furthermore, I read through MarsZM's post, 'Tom Campbell Stance on Negative Entities'. While I was reading it, I couldn't help but notice that their problems were similar to mine. I could totally relate, though their encounters seemed more extreme than mine.
Terror is terror. We talk about fear tests. There is no comparing who's is worse. When you are experiencing it, that is the worst. There is no way to "sugar coat" that. I have been picked up by my ankles and spun upside down through my ceiling. I've been screamed at, all kinds of things. My first OBE experience introduced me to this "dweller" entity that many people talk about. Thankfully fear was replaced in most of these experiences by curiosity. Read the Sleep Paralysis sticky here on this Forum. A friend of ours and former Moderator here named Bedeekin gave a great detailed look into what people experience during a OBE and why.
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/everything_you_could_ever_want_to_know_about_sleep_paralysis-t38734.0.html

This "dweller" entity has been talked about numerous times on this Forum. Many of us here saw this being the first time we actually had a conscious OBE. Just do a Forum search on the word "dweller" and you will see what I mean. CFTraveller made a great post years ago on this "dweller" phenomenon. I read it last night and saved it to my favorite, but I am on my laptop right now and I saved that link to my Home computer. I will post it later for you.

QuoteAnd I also noticed Lumaza's comment about their experiences with a man who was somehow able to tell them about their dreams in accurate detail. Then he vanished the following day. Did that really happen? How fascinating! :-o
Yes that really happened. I wouldn't have posted it here if it didn't. There is quite a bit of "unique experiences" to be had in this World. My family here now doesn't believe half the things I say, lol. But they also have always led a "sheltered life". When you get out amongst the populace like I have since I was 14 years old (I am in my mid 50's today) you get introduced to many strange things and occurrences.

If it's not too much to ask, can someone please tell me more about what it means to be a 'Retriever'. Thanks for everything so far guys.
Retrievals occur when a person goes into the NP to aid a "soul" that is stuck. Usually this soul is stuck in either their own BST (Belief System Territory) or personal nightmare. They could be in a Coma as well. We can assume any form necessary to aid this lost soul. But we can't decide anything for them. The decision to move on is theirs and theirs alone. You can read about it more in this link here or you could do a Forum search on "Retrievals".| A former member here named Ginny was quite proficient with this.
I started this thread here years ago under my former name LIonheart.

There, all that reading should keep you busy for awhile. It's all great info though, especially Bedeekin's SP sticky. He put a lot of work into that one!  8-)

So with this new information, does anyone have any substantial advice? I am very worried and would appreciate it very much.
Yes, stop trying to have a OBE. There, end of the entity! Seriously though, the thing about a "fear test" is that if you can't pass it, you don't move on. The same circumstances will continue to reveal themselves to you and scare you because you never handled them in the first place. When you say you have read things about creatures like this, it takes me back to conversations here that were about Erin Pavlina and her website that is full of fearful encounters, Maybe you should go there and ask her about what you are experiencing. She might give you the answer "you are looking for", not necessarily the one that will be beneficial to your further progress though.

We have people that come here from time to time that share their fear based experiences. We then attempt to aid them by handling the problem the only way we know how. Unless we jump on board and "feed" the person's fear, they won't post here again and will leave the Forum.

Many of us here have experienced "fear tests" in the past. We use that term because it is a real thing. Almost all of the famous Authors on the topic of non local states of consciousness/Astral projection/OBEs talk about it and they all say the same thing, you must learn to confront your fear. It's part of the process.

Remember though, in the NPR (non physical realms) thought = action immediately. So, any fearful thought or fearful "expectation" will manifest itself then and there. I said in the past for you to give him a cookie, because to do that shows a level of control over "yourself", not him. The next thing you could do then would be to go to your "Happy place", a place of your own design where you feel safe. A place you enjoy. You will see it will also be a place with no scary entities too, unless of course you like this kind of thing happening.

One last thing you could do is to do a google search on the words "Astral Warriors". These are people that have OBEs so they can go and fight fearful things/Demons. Possibly this is the route you are looking for. After all, your posts here have been about fearful things.

Welcome to the Astral Pulse JayPeBe!  :-)

After you experience that and "notice" that the darkness before your closed eyes has changed, as in has got more depth to it, you have the option of creating a intent and just being there or you could just bask in the silence and enjoy it. Creating a intent is easy as focusing on let's say your "Happy Place". This could be a place where you feel totally relaxed and safe. Mine is a tropical Island scenario with white sand beaches and all the trimmings. Every time I go there, I find something "out of place" or new. That will normally lead to some kind of adventure or new exploration. Delve/immerse yourself completely into it. Enjoy it. If there is something else you need to see or learn at this point in your evolution , you will be deterred over to it. That seems to be how everything works. For now, just become a good "observer". Don your "explorer's cap" and go see what you can see!  :-)

I noticed my eyes do something similar too. I wonder if this has playing havoc for me as I was trying to keep eyes "slightly up" as suggested in some threads. Makes sense now that I could have been putting too much attention on the damn eyes. I will see where this goes instead.
Frank and a few others here have spoke about keeping the eyes "slightly up".

I like Nameless's idea of just allowing the eyes to "naturally" do what they want to do. I experience the prompt to readjust my vision, when I am focused straight on. The next sensation I get is normally like a body wave, kind of like a intense chill of sorts that apexes at my head and brings on that exploding head feeling. When I get passed that, it doesn't seem like there is any certain direction that my eyes are focused on period. I just seem to see "everything" around me at the same time. The feeling of "expanse" is very profound. The exploding head symptom is very quick. It is really intense, but only lasts for about 10 seconds or so. The trick is to just observe it and allow it to commence. Like with almost everything in this practice that's easier to say than do though.  :-o

Lately I have been doing something that really gets the Etheric body movements occurring. If you are a lover of great music, as I am, I'm sure you will enjoy this week's practice.

This week your task is to listen to your favorite music, that has deep emotions and really gets you going. With your eyes closed, feel the music. Feel the rhythm. Feel as your etheric body keeps the beat, sways back and forth to what you are hearing. Lose yourself in song!  8-)

I will start you out with some great videos to "experience".

Nofarewell, I know you have read my Doorway thread, since you have already posted there yourself. I started talking about this exact thing in my July 27th 2018 post found there.
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_astral_consciousness/the_doorway-t46013.150.html

The "defocusing" is a great sign. This shows that you are now undergoing a shift in consciousness faster than you "expect" Remember, it's important to loose any expectations and just observe for now. Don't fight it when your eyes defocus like this. I found the sensation that I experience during this to be extremely powerful. It felt like my head was going to explode. It doesn't last long though and when it is over, you will find that you are deep in a 3D depth, ala the "Void" scenario. Now, you can set your intent and be "there"!  :-)

I guess in a way you can call this Phasing 102. I say 102 because this is what occurs when you practice, have patience and finally do persevere!  8-) It's like you hit a whole new level now. Now you are seeing that it doesn't have to take so long to get to this point. All along, it was "you" that was getting in the way of your shift in consciousness.

Like Nameless said above, "you aren't physically focused anymore". You are now using your "Mind's eye" instead of your physical ones. This can happen almost immediately after you close your eyes to "notice" as well.

Lumaza, I'm not sure we learn to "control" Time...I think that we just come to understand it. And, in the sense of control, yes maybe we learn somehow to work with it and utilize it to our advantage...and maybe advantage is the wrong word...but I have seen that in some of my experiences.
I used the word "control" because my understanding of the Scientific community and their research is that for them to fully understand something, they must first be able to "duplicate" it themselves in a controlled environment. That shows a certain level of control. A great example of this is the "Hadron Collider".

Quote
I still find it remarkable with my own Non-Physical experiences how the concept of Time sometimes utterly disappears...still haven't quite figured that out, but I still notice it, lol.
I agree. I have seen that we live in multiple realities at the same "time"! That leads to more questions than it does answers though!  :| :?

I'm not so sure a simple cookie will do the trick for this entity...
You are still missing the point here. The "Cookie" itself means nothing. It's the fact that you are "consciously giving" the Cookie that makes all the difference!  Think about that for a bit!  :-)

First, the concept of eternity is plainly beyond the scope of human understanding...I have difficulty envisioning much beyond a thousand, maybe ten thousand years...not to speak of a million or billion years.
When you say it's beyond "the scope of human understanding", you were spot on EV. There is a very good chance that "time" itself is a "Human" concept. If that is the truth, until we can learn how to "control" time, we won't ever be able to understand it period.   :| :?

Erik, don't get discouraged by what you see as "lack of progressive". In my eyes, you are doing great. Although we are all engaging here on the same form of "etheric body exercises" we still need to let go of our expectations and just take what is given to us.

You stated that " I got in a nice, hovering, light feeling state. I lost sense of time and space. At the moment I realised this, even when my analytical mind kicked in, I was not able to localize the position of my body directly. So I had a full aware floating experience! I had the feeling I was hovering somewhat above my body." In my eyes, that's better than feeling just a singular etheric body part. The " phantom whistling" that you heard also shows that you had either already shifted or were just on the cusp of a shift, which is what our end goal here is anyways!  :-)

Keep up the great work!  :-)

After my Phase soak session today I once again laid down on my bed to do some etheric body exercise. I first began with just a simple focus on my hands. After a few minutes of that focus of just "feeling" and sensing them, I moved to just simple small movements with my etheric hands, like making a fist. That soon moved to me focusing on my legs. I then moved my etheric knees up and down a few times. Next I raised those etheric legs and began doing the motion of "Cycling" in the air. That motion is actually easy to do because it has a flow to it that is easy to follow.

The real interesting part of this began when I once again began "pin balling" my focus on certain locations. This time, I chose 5 locations that had nothing to do with my immediate vicinity and surroundings. I just targeted the area but when I felt that my analytical mind was kicking in and "creating" the scene, I immediately kicked over to the next location until I knew I wasn't driving the scene. To do this, you must let go of your analytical mind, ego, emotions and just become a "observer". Once a vivid scenario presents itself to you, you slowly open your peripheral vision to the surroundings and begin to "ground" yourself "there". Don't overthink it. If you do your experience will likely be a short one!

It's definitely different for each one and how you visualise it. It is the interface of your choice then. I also believe due to my own research that you can access akashic knowledge simply through questioning the Void in the right way. It does not mean that you 'are there' but just that you have a way to retrieve it, just like to query a database and get sth back in words, images, concepts, or entire 'rotes', etc.
From my own experience through constant experimentation and exploration of the "void", I have to agree with Volgerle. The "void" is the Akashic Records, it is Focus 27, it is the Hospital, the Cathedral. It is all these things and more. It is anything you "need" it to be. It can be a Doorway or a portal. The more you access it, the more you see that there are no limits to it. The trick is to learn how to "utilize" for your desired intent at said time.

I have heard many people on Radio talk shows explaining their experience in this area. Many of them perceive it differently and because of that their descriptions of it tend to confuse people. What is it? It is "all" and "nothing"!  :-)

12/12/19: Daytime session. First too much monkey mind, but after a while I got into it deeper with a few hypnagogic flickers and also could play again with the energy around my hands/arms. Notable event: Near the end of session I asked telepathically for the guides (retriever team, nonphysical side) to register with me physically if they 'see' my efforts and 'listen to me', so I have support from them. I got shivers as a confirmation. Note they are not vibrations but rather goosebumpy sensations. I see them as a communication tool by guides or Higher Self. (Another tool by the way is a twitch in the left outer thigh for a 'yes' and the right for a 'no'. Does not work always but sometimes it did.)
I mentioned above the putting my focus on my window for a few minutes during a pause in my etheric practice. Today, I did one better. I started with my etheric body focus then I began pin balling my focus to my kitchen, living room, to my driveway and then at the end of our road. When I did this, it was quick little peeks. I didn't visualize anything. All I did was send my focus there. At first, I could not see anything but the darkness before my closed eyes. so, I sped up the pinballing and visuals began showing everywhere I put my focus. But I never lingered in one focus too long. It was more about a kind of speedy focal switch. I wanted to see what was already there. This is a great way to trick your NP focus into appearing. Fast targets don't allow the conscious thinking mind to kick in. They use a form of this in "remote viewing". You don't want the analytical thinking mind to kick in. You just want to see what's already "there".

During my etheric body focus, I was on my back lying down and I was bending my etheric knees up and down again. This was in preparation for the next exercise which will be "pedaling" in the air. I did that pedaling in the past and found it was an excellent way to consume my entire focus, while the "natural" shift in consciousness occurred.

Volgerle, I like the way you have created a "yes or no" communication tool. Very ingenious my friend!  8-)
#1096
Volgerle, that's great to hear that you are progressing so quickly here. I was hoping this exercise may kind of jump start that passion that you once had with this practice in general.

Go ahead and share your "tree hugging" technique. We are all ears. I used to ,while sitting in my computer chair by the window, close my eyes and will my consciousness over to a large Weeping Willow tree in our backyard that stands about half a football field from our home. Once I had a good lock on it, I would slowly raise my peripheral vision to what was around it. It led to some interesting experiences.  :-)

....and enjoy your Vacation my friend!  8-)

I think you misunderstood my direction on the "kick back and relax" thing. I said you could do that "anytime" you wish and that I it was a way to kind of garner how much you are progressing in this practice. It wasn't part of the etheric body exercises. It was just kind of a "tester" to see how you were coming along with shutting off that nerve impulse.

In it, the arms and fingers were locked on the neck. The neck is really sensitive and it is easy tell if your nerves were really firing as you were pin balling your focus back and forth between your bent elbows. I found that with my arms/hands at my side and my legs straight, that I couldn't feel if my nerves were really firing or not. Why is this important? Because when your nerves stop firing when you focus on your etheric body movement, it shows you are now in a "mind awake/body asleep" mode.

I will tell you the truth. You don't need etheric body exercises to project. They aren't necessary at all. But what you learn during them and what comes after it is important. The control you learn here, you will also have over "there". You are also showing your "higher self" that you are ready to see more. The more you put into this, the more you get back from it. I have found that the years that I have been listening to Bin beats/Isochronic tones/Meditative music has paid off huge. They showed me how to hold onto and recognize the different brain waves that we experience before during and even after a shift in consciousness. Throughout the years of doing my etheric body practices and experiments I have found  how to make the "NPR" become second nature to me. This has nothing to do with bragging or ego. I am sharing what I have found throughout my own journey. Will they work for everyone. It depends. This isn't a written in stone blueprint. This is just a guide line that you can work off of and develop further yourself.

T-Man you are correct. It's a great way to "wind down" from a busy day, hence the term "kick back and relax"!  :-)

I've done some excercises but I was feverish last night. I think I come very close to the MABA state. Itching trouble has declined and mind is not so busy.
At this moment I try to move an etheric hand or foot but no success. I catch myself trying it physically, my hand/feet has some tension at that moment.

I concur with Lumanza's remark about the kick back and relax technique. When lying flat I get some straint around my elbows in time.
So in my opinion it is more of an casual excercise while eg watching tv.

My practice at this moment:

- Lie down, breathing in/out
- Use the chest of Robert Monroe to put in my daily issues.
- Apply colour breathing, I think it is quite powerful.
- Progressive relaxation.
- More colour breathing.
- When I have the idea I am fully relaxed I try to wiggle my hands / feet.
- More colour breathing.
- More relaxation.
etc.
Until it's time to stop. My lower back is going to ache after about 40 minutes.

Erik, don't pressure yourself. There is a difference between "allowing" something to occur and "forcing: it.

it sound like the "color breathing" agrees with you. I would stay with that for now and cut the "progressive relaxation" out of your process. Experiment with that and see what feels comfortable to you.

Try to avoid uncomfortable positions so you won't get that tight lower back. In your case I might just raise my knees when I am lying on my back. That should alleviate any discomfort you have. You could try lying on your side as well. We are doing Etheric body exercises, so it doesn't matter what position your physical body is in.

EV, that was a fantastic post. That is definitely not distracting or derailing to this discussion. "mental preparation" is needed. I listed a number of ways above that they can do just that. But you came at it from a different angle. You used "mental preparation" in the full meaning of the term. I see often here that someone to be successful with APing all of a sudden has their experiences halted. We all seem to get the "sneak peeks", but then the "real" work begins. Not only practicing and putting a effort in, but also coming to "terms" with what we are doing, why we are doing it and what is our own "motivation" to keep doing it. That's why I called this thread "Serious Practitioners Need Apply".

We have seen many people through the years come and go. They learned, got what they "needed" out of this and moved on. No harm, no foul. I'm sure it changed their outlook on a lot of things in life and now they can go utilize what they learned to make their life and others around them the best it can be.

Yesterday I went through some ways that people could "prepare" before they implemented the etheric exercises. I gave them some different techs that they could choose through, basically some ideas. There are a number of things you can do. I change it up all the time. I find if I keep using the same ways, I either get bored or find myself "stuck" as well. I also have to throw some unexpected "curves" into the things I am already doing. People can use any way they wish to get the ball rolling.

In my Doorway thread, in the past, I have written a number of different ways to "disassociate" myself from the focus of my physical body. Right in the middle of sharing a technique, I will throw a "curveball" in with a statement like "okay now open the curtain in front of you and look through it". That statement would completely throw people off. But I found things like that very useful.

In my own etheric practice today, I would take a moment away from the actual hands on practicing to look through my window and see what's happening outside. I wouldn't open my eyes, neither would I feel the need to walk there. I would just will my consciousness there for a moment just to see what I could see. If I saw nothing, I just returned to my etheric practice. If I did see a visual, either fully vivid or just developing I could do one of two things, I could observe it and open my peripheral vision slowly taking on more of the scene or I could just look through and beyond it to see what's there. Both of those things would pull me deeper into the new scenario that appeared there. Then I could just let my curiosity pull me even further. That folks is Phasing 101.

I also wanted to say that that technique that I shared yesterday about "kicking back and relaxing" doesn't need to be done while lying down, as in part of our actual etheric practice. That can be used anytime you wish to see how much you are progressing with this practice in general and can be done while you are doing just that "kicking back and relaxing" on your couch or recliner while watching TV, a movie, listening to music, or just enjoying some quiet time. I found that arm position to be a bit uncomfortable to do for a long period of time while lying down on my back. When I do my etheric body exercises, I like to have my arms at my side and my legs straight.  You don't want to be in any bodily position that's comfortable when you do your etheric body practices. You even want to wearing comfortable, non restricting clothing.

To the Moderators here, I think this whole thread might fit better in another sub Forum of your choosing. I picked this one initially to kind of garner interest. Now that I see that some people are onboard, it seems like it would be better fit in another section of the Forum.
Thank You.  :-)

Lastly, I ask of you to please comment to help us all learn together. Anything that you think might add to the practice, any advise you could give would all help us greatly here. We can also attempt to answer any concerns or problems you may be having with this as well.  :-)

Cool but I think you misunderstood my question still. I was asking if they were a con or nothe since someone else said there was no subliminal messages in them.
Did you miss this part of my reply above "They are good? That's my opinion of them. Truthfully though, I can find others just as good for free on youtube. Recently I have been listening to this one before bed and have been having some very "quick' and unique experiences afterwards. Take that for what you wish!  8-) It' loops for 8 hours, so you can turn it off at anytime you wish.

If you search that subject in the Astral Pulse search engine you will find what other people's opinion and experiences with them were. There was a conversation on this very topic about 4 or 5 months ago here. Use the heading "Brainsync".

Good luck!  :-)
