Hm, maybe defocusing is the right word? I tend to practice it a lot. You defocus and watch a layer just backwards. We can call it our mind. But as soon there are some mental sceneries, we tend to ruin it with our eyes and we fall out. Frank actually had a battle with this lol.
I guess "Defocusing" would be the right term then.

I had read about Frank's problem with this, in the past, in the "Frank's posts PDF" here on the Pulse. He says and I always restate that this is when it really important to just "passively observe". This is "much" easier said than done. With a lot of practice, you can entrain yourself to  control your reactions to the "stimuli" that you are experiencing.

 Congratulations Sammie!  :-) 8-)

A few weeks back I had a cold that very quickly turned into Pneumonia. That really messed my sleep schedule up. But, it also caused many vivid LDs. I could only get about 2 hours sleep at a time.

When I first got my Trigeminal Neuralgia it forced me into learning what is known as Tibetan Dream Yoga. I was fully aware all the way into my Dreams and all the way through the natural Dreaming process. The Hypnagogic imagery, the "voices", etc. were all part of the process. We are normally tuned out when this happens naturally each and every night to us.

Lumaza, I'm finding it a bit difficult to follow precisely what you mean when you're talking about your eyes. What exactly does it mean to 'fight the urge to readjust'?

Do you mean that once you close your eyes, you must resist the urge to move them and stay focused on the darkness behind your eyes?

Sorry, I'm a bit lost!  :-D
It is really hard to explain.

I will be "noticing" the darkness before my eyes. Then I will have a overwhelming urge to readjust my eyes. It could be an urge to move them that I am fighting. All I know is the urge is very strong. I slowed the process down in the last few days to understand it more and it feels like I am turning my eye sight completely off. While fighting the urge, my hands and feet begin to tingle, like pins and needles and I get the sensation of rising. The next thing I know, I am in a vast empty darkness. The depth of that darkness has changed dramatically.

Yesterday I did a real fast couple of minute progressive relaxation exercise, then immediately the urge hit to readjust my vision, I did  and immediately felt the shift.

In the past I have times when new things like this start to occur. I mentioned it to Tom Campbell years ago when I had a few of my instant shifts while in the shower. They were spontaneous though. I didn't attempt anything besides trying to get the soap out of my eyes then, lol.
Tom says that things like this come in "phases", pardon the pun there!  :-D I am thoroughly enjoying this one now.  :-) 8-)

Cool! I actually love the feeling of tornadoes, especially in dreams. It feels like creation within destruction and expansion somehow.
Many things that could be or are considered "dangerous" here in the physical seem to have a "silver lining" in the NP. Challenges are everywhere over there, but they are here in the physical as well. It's just we don't have to abide by a physical ruleset while there, unless otherwise specified. That seems to happen quite a bit in my "re-scripting" experiences.

"Creation within destruction and expansion", that's a great way to sum it up!  :-)

Thank You for all your replies here Baro-san, Philidan and Nameless!  :-)

I apologize for the late reply, we had a Benefit for Nathan last weekend and the Family was the one that was organizing it. There was a lot of things to do there.

I have explored this "eye adjusting" thing a bit more lately. It seems to be more of a "defocusing" than it does a "refocusing". I have experienced it recently many times now right at the start of my Phase sessions. I will do my quick progressive relaxation, than another quick "healing modality" for people that I know that are currently in need of it. Then the impulse hits strongly to readjust my eyes. I work through it and the next thing I know, I have shifted.

While working through the ever so strong impulse, I instantly feel the sensation of "rising". There is a strong burst of pins and needles that accompanies it as well. But it is short lived because the next thing I know, the darkness in front of my closed eyes has changed. It has become vast. I know this area well. It's the 3d dark zone. I can get there now in about 10 minutes, probably faster if I dropped my "opening rituals".

I am going to continue to explore this new "phase" of my Phasing exercises, lol, so, I won't be working on new techniques for awhile, unless another "lesson" reveals itself to me first.

I also want to say Thank You to all of you who recently PMed me with your comments. I will get back to you soon.

Philidan, I have found that that is the "new normal" and we just have to get used to it. I have spoke to others that teach Meditation, Yoga, etc. and they have told me that they are having the same problems. If people don't see instant results, they lose interest and move onto the next thing. Then you have the people that see this practice as the "flavor of the day". It will interest until the next "flavor" comes around.
There are people though that are serious about this practice. Many of them like to lurk in the shadows here. That's okay though, they don't need to reply. If they want though, they are always welcome to use the PM option on this Forum. That way, they can keep their comments personal.

Nameless, there are many "vehicles" that you can use to cross "over"/exit. I experience "portals and vortexes" in many things. I finally gave in to Tornadoes and found that they are very useful to "switch the scene". We are always taught to fear them here in the physical and we should. So, that "carryover" was causing fear in the NP for me as well. Until that is, I experienced what lied beyond the Tornado. Then I saw that in the NP they are used as a form of a portal or vortex.
#1356
Tornadoes to me seem to be some kind of "vortex" or portal, that is Tornadoes in the NP. I have experienced them many times and they are always used as some kind of "board wipe" leading to a new scenario. Entering them in the NP always leads to a new exciting/extraordinary experience!  :-)

Theres been a lot of advice on these 3 pages, but you seem to move on to something else before using advice. How often are you attempting this method? What part IS NOT WORKING? If you look at the link you shared above, after step 5, it has a small sample of issues/suggestions. (PS- Raduga's downloadable "book" spends a huge amount of pages to examples/issues and what he suggested to fix them.)

I'm glad you noticed that too. I fear this is the reason that other members here aren't jumping in to help out here either. You can lead a Horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

Recently, Escape Velocity created a new "Astral Hotline" thread to help people experience the NP consciously aware, using any technique or methodology they prefer. Yet, no one here is using it and still they can't find any success.  :-o :-(

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Really Odd Eye Problem
November 17, 2018, 04:53:41
Nameless, my Dear, I have a different way of looking at all of this, based on what occurred to bring my awareness to this practice in the first place. My right eye was swollen shut. You can look back to my earlier posts to read more on that. I am sure that it is not a "popular" view in this thread at the moment.
I threw a bunch of money at finding answer. I had the medical tests done on my back and spine to find the reason for my "inner vibrations". By the time I got to finally see my Doctor, my eye had healed and he had passed it off as it likely being a blocked tear duct. No tests were done on that eye though. I don't have any Medical Insurance either. MJ does though. So, any testing or visits are  "out of pocket", which, as you know, can get quite "pricey".

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: The Doorway
November 17, 2018, 04:43:42
I am going to add this reply with some new techniques to this Doorway thread. I really wanted to add it to the new "Astral Hotline" thread that EscapeVelocity created here, but it doesn't look like anyone is even using it or cares to. I know that once people do peruse this thread, so maybe they might find a answer that they are looking for.

First off I want to say a few things. The first being, I see new members come here, ask for help, get a reply, then totally ignore the reply and come back with the same problem that is hindering them again. Right now, I see it constantly here and that's a good reason that I haven't even logged on here for about a month now. That and the fact that the Astral Pulse Forum was offline for a week and half recently.

I see new members here constantly talking about this need to "get out of the body". They are looking at Astral Projection from a purely "physical mindset". A lot of this practice, just as life in general has to do with "common sense". So, common sense would tell me if I wish to have a "Etheric" experience also known as a true OBE, with all the bells and whistles, then I need to come at this from that point of view.
When I was new to projection, that's exactly what I did. I sat in a chair in my room and memorized everything around me. I memorized  where the table in the room was, the couch was, the stairs the windows, the walls etc. I sat there with eyes completely open and I tried to be aware of everything around me. I then closed my eyes, did a quick progressive relaxation and began focusing on my breathing. I mentally pictured everything around me while I did this. After a few more breaths, I decided to use inhale for expanding and my exhale for retracting. At first it was just on the length of one left leg or arm, kind of like a "stretch Armstrong" thing. Soon I was expanding and retracting towards my walls, tables, couches, etc. I felt the expansion and retraction as well. After about 15 minutes of doing this, I heard a brief Astral Wind. Next, I felt mild vibrations. I mentally noted them, then moved on. Soon, I was seeing my entire room, first through the fog, but it got better quickly, through my closed eyelids. I then got up and moved around. Not my physical body, My Etheric one. I didn't question what was happening. Yes, it caught me off guard, but I was "all in" when I started down this path.
I find that there are people that don't quite understand what it is to "PASSIVELY OBSERVE" and ALLOW" things to occur. I see that here in many posts that I read on a constant basis. They are constantly getting hung up because something did occur. They had one or two "exit signs" and then lost their entire focus. Fear has a lot to do with that. But I also find that those people will always disagree with that. They say they weren't afraid of it at all. But I know better, because I have and do still experience many fear tests. Just last week, a very vivid, completely aware experience of mine got thwarted by a simple "Doorbell". Yes, that's right, you can laugh, but I became ultra aware and just as I did, I heard my house doorbell ring. I got up to see who was there. Then I kicked myself all the way back to bed. Obviously no one was there. I got duped again, lol. It happens.

Now that I got that off my chest, I want to get back to teaching here again. The last few weeks I have had some excellent experiences and have been taught a couple of different new techniques of focus to share with others here that wish to learn, during my own Phase soak sessions.

The first one, we will call "Is it OHM/OM or AUM?. I laid back in the water and did a quick progressive relaxation/disassociation technique, then I asked "What's next". I just stared into the darkness before my closed eyes and soon a thought came to mind. It was based on the question "is it OHM/OM or AUM"? I didn't start that thought, my mind was basically blank at that point, but now I entertained that question. At first I thought that people may answer according to their Spiritual beliefs. Different cultures have different beliefs and that that belief would likely taint their findings. So, I began my own little test. I focused on the word OHM and mentally repeated it over and over for awhile, then I changed it up the other spelling AUM. I did notice a difference, but I felt that I flawed the process. The first OHM, I had practiced for the first ten minutes or so, before moving on the next AUM for ten minutes or so. I found this flawed because after the first ten minutes, I am normally already focused away from the body, meaning that the next ten minutes would be twice a strong anyways.
I then aborted that OHM/AUM focus and enjoyed the peace and quite of the 3D zone I was now experiencing.

Day two, I got in the tub, did my progressive relation, closed my eyes, went to focus on the OHM test again, did one OHM, got a really strong sensation to readjust my eyes, ignored it and found that I was now being catapulted at a extremely high rate of speed through some kind of portal experience. I didn't see the portal at first. All I felt was the feeling of being moved upwards at a fantastical rate of speed. Blurred colors soon joined the tactile sensations. I was already "out". I had shifted that quickly. That has happened very quickly, but I get a symptom before it does. It seems like it has to do with my physical eye focus. When you first close your eyes, your physical eyes are focused on the immediately darkness before them. If you have been looking at a cell phone, computer screen or even a TV beforehand, there is a likelihood that you will maintain a bit of that image in your closed eyes screen as well. Normally the imprint is, just as I said, a imprint of the outline of whatever it was you were viewing or looking at. Many times that imprint will be a rectangle. This is why "Candle Staring" is such a great technique to have a "shift of consciousness" with. One the imprint disappears, you can either "will" it back or just enjoy the darkness until something new occurs. What I have found on a number of occasions with myself personally is that if I fight the urge to readjust my physical eyes, I will instantly shift. I will tell you one thing too, that urge is hard to fight. Sometimes it feels like my head is going to explode. But I take it as a test. The bodies test to see if I am still physically oriented to it. It can happen quite quickly too.

Day three, I got back to the OHM test. This time I used OHM on the first breathe, then immediately afterwards I did a breathe using the other AUM. I kept aware and mentally recorded the differences, if there was one. When I finally aborted the OHM test, I focusing on opening some Astral Doorways.

I know people here that are going to say, "what a stupid question". There isn't any difference, ya da yada yada. It doesn't matter if there is any difference at all. To attack this, would show me you don't understand the reason for the "exercise" in the first place. This whole exercise, was based on giving you a target to focus on while the shift in consciousness naturally occurred. The entire time you were focused on the "is it OHM or AUM", you were focused away from your physical body, long enough for the natural shift to occur. After your half hour/hour practice session, for some, you would already find yourself, if you wish to use the term, "out of the body". This next technique is based on the same concept.

We will call this one "Contemplating the Meaning of life" and Other things".
For this one, as usual I got into my bathtub of water, closed my eyes, did a quick progressive relaxation technique and then just got lost in though contemplating things. In this session, the "chosen" topic seemed to be Blind/Impaired vision people. I was curious if they could see actual forms in their Dreams. Just like we do with our eyes open. At my shows, I come across when many people with come kind of impairment. Some are blind, some deaf, but I always try to go the extra mile when I speak to them. I will often hold the item we are speaking about out to them, so they can touch it and I guess, get a "visual" picture of it. Now the questions started. But do they see it like us? Is it just a "imprint" that they see? Is their "Mind's Eye", blind/impaired as well? This whole question and answer period has now taken my so far away form my physical body focus, that I have already shifted. When I stop contemplating "life and other", I find that I am deep in the 3D zone and now can move on to whatever lies there next. Then saw a "Bridge" in front of me and I crossed it.

The following days, I used the same focus on losing myself in thought. Weird as it was, the "bridge" showed up again and again once I lost focus on the losing myself in thought portion of the session. You might add this to your technique as well. Bridge's carry a lot of "symbolism" and mental association. Crossing one can quickly lead to a very vivid lengthy NP experience.
So, when you are done "contemplating life", cross that bridge in front of you. If you can't see, just know it's there. You can walk across, fly across, drive across, float across, etc. I have even had times where I was seeing a Horse or something/someone crossing the bridge ahead of me. This felt more like a 3rd person viewing. But I still mentally followed them none the less. I won't say what I saw on the other side because I don't want to "front load" you. But there was always a adventure awaiting. One time it even led to a lengthy Retrieval.

Even though I am still curious to know the answer to those questions above, this wasn't about that topic. This was once again about somewhat "tricking" or should I say, ""letting your guard down", enough so that the shift in consciousness can naturally occur. Both techniques do just that. Don't take these as written in stone "Blueprints". Take the idea/technique and run with it. Modify it to your own likings.

Many Authors have spoke of the "physical tests" that the body gives while attempting mind awake/body asleep. They can come in the form of needing to swallow, needing to move because of discomfort, also known a the "roll over" prompt. "Some" of these prompts occur when the body is trying to figure whether you are still awake or not. If ever tried to fight sleep, you would know exactly what I mean. I always give in to the "swallow" prompt. It can bring on the sensation of choking and get you to hyperventilate. So, if my throat wants me to swallow, I will. But I now have learned the importance of fighting the "eye adjustment" prompt. I have also learned how to get through it. I will just focus on a cone/pyramid shaped white light above my head. For some reason, that almost instantly will change the visual aspect from my physical eyes to my "Mind's EYE". Once that happens, I find the shift has already occurred. This can happen almost instantly or at least very soon after you close your eyes to start "noticing". If this happens to you too, "see it through" and you will find that the shift has just occurred. It doesn't always have to take a lot of time for this to happen. Sometimes you are just ready right way. Always "take what it gives you".

I hope some of these tips will help you on your Journeys.
                Safe Travels!  :-)

I find that targeted validation is very difficult there. On the other hand though, in the past I have written on this Forum a few times where a NP "vision" came true to me here in this current reality. To me, that was all the "proof" I personally needed. Our new expanded "awareness" seems to have it's own "gifts" as well. Those gifts "can" be and usually are used frequently in this physical reality here, sometimes without us not even knowing it.

I know in the past here, Volgerle has posted a link to many "Validations" that occurred during a NP experience. Perhaps he can post it again here so that all can read it.

The thing is... we attach negative experiences to ourselves much easier than positive ones.
When you first experienced them, YOU attached them to you.

From that point forward, each time you experience them, they're literally a creation of your own.

CHOOSE to love them instead.  It's a challenge as much as it is an experience for you.

Learn to love.  They can't hurt you.  Nothing can hurt you.
I agree whole heartedly with that statement!

I frequent other Astral related Forums, like Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics. I don't post there. I just go there to peruse. I have nothing but appreciation for Robert's NEW (New Energy Ways) program. I learned a lot from it and use a variation of it often. But every time I go to his Forum I see discussion after discussion about Negs. Just the other day I went on that Forum to peruse and just like as in other Forum layouts, they also have a button to read "updated"/recent material. Well every single thread in that updated section was focused on Negs. When you put that much focus on something, you in turn "make it" your reality.

I don't usually see dogs in the NP, but for some reason I see a lot of Horses. That's strange because I'm not focused on Horses in this current reality. I respect them, as I do all the other animals here. But I wouldn't put them on the top of my list as my favorites though. Still I have seen them numerous times.

Years ago, as our dog was dying in my arms, I attempted one last time to do a healing on her. When I closed my eyes, the darkness was interrupted by 2 dogs by her side. One was a liitle "yippy" dog that wouldn't stop yipping. The other was a large, very intense dog that definitely gave me the idea that I wasn't supposed to help her this time. So, I just said my goodbyes and she passed away in my arms. It was sad, but I knew it was the right thing to do. That's about the only time I ever saw dogs.

Just like in school you can't skip grades, same here. It will not be in the masses benefit to force this awakening, as most still NEED this level to continue experiencing and learning. There ALWAYS be a need of this kind of limited reality as a school ground. Not to worry, everything is exactly as it needs to be. On individual level though each person perceives this world differently according to individual level of awakening. That s ok with me as I can see clearly what each person I interact with needs to learn. I provide hints into the right direction, but never force my philosophy as only their own experience can lead them to absolute understanding. So their life events must provide them with circumstances through which they can learn.
That right there is why I always feel like a "Observer" here in this reality. I find many times that, even though I somehow "know" what is going on in this person's like, no matter how bad it is. I must still "watch" it occur. Case in point, MJ's cancer dilemma of years ago. I saw the signs, but wasn't allowed to "intervene". It was up to her to decide whether she wanted to stay/live or go/transition over. Right now I have a good friend that is "deteriorating" more and more every day. I have reached out to help him, to try to heal him, but when I do, I find "obstacles" and diversions that tell me that he is okay with what is occurring on some level. In this physical mindset and level, he is not okay with it and is fighting it tooth and nail. It's hard to watch that for so many reasons!

QuoteIf this world awakens and becomes perfect there will be no point of it's lower frequency existence anymore. It may happen though before the invisible law of physics destroys it by our sun dying or sudden climate change, however, i have come to terms that in the multiverse there will always be lower limiting realities existing for a long long time allowing intensive learning. Take it as a blessing in disguise.
My biggest question with all this talk of a "Event" has always been "What happens next"? Do we just sit around, hold hands and sing "Kumbaya" all day, lol!  :-D

We are physical beings here and barring some kind of "dimensional shift", that occurs immediately, we still have to live under these physical "rulesets".

I have always believed this is a "School" where we learn to "experience" and "evolve". The good, bad and ugly are all experiences. But truthfully, it's the bad and ugly, trials and tribulations that hold our true lessons and teachings. ...and yes Love is important, but it is one of those "experiences".

I agree with all of you here. It was take a "Event" that couldn't be ignored to create a change in the populace. It would have to be something so big, that it single handedly "creates" that change itself. The problem would be, acclimating to that new change. We experiencers here already "know" that there is something outside the "veil". There could come a time where "we" are called upon to help out, not just "we" here on the Astral Pulse. I mean we, as in, all like minded good natured beings.

At the start I would lay there for 60 to 90 minutes and would not get as far as I do now in 20 to 30 minutes. I will let the process play out for at least an hour and see what comes with it.
I don't need 60 to 90 minutes anymore either. The reason it took that long in the beginning was that "I" was the one getting in the way of any successes. I would have a symptom and lock onto that, instead of just "passively observing" it. Once I had a few successes, I was taught by a mentor (deceased Brother-inlaw) the importance of "passively observing" and mentally "allowing" things/the shift to occur.

I just wanted to update this. Robert Moss is going to be a guest on Coast to Coast AM tomorrow Oct 18th 2018. He gives fantastic interviews and is a great speaker to listen to if you are interested in NP exploration. He has a fascinating, very uplifting and passionate view of "what is".

Here is the "header" from for that show "Pioneer of Active Dreaming, an original synthesis of shamanism and modern dream work, Robert Moss will discuss his latest work using dreams to experience other realms and dimensions. He will reveal methods to tap into the deeper logic of events, receive extraordinary counsel, and have wonderful fun. First half guest TBA. "

Coast to Coast AM is free to listen to. All you need to do is to go this website and find the radio stations in your state or district.
https://www.coasttocoastam.com/stations

For more info on Robert, here is link to his website: http://www.mossdreams.com/

Last week, William Buhlman was a guest on Coast to Coast as well. You can go to YouTube and do a search on "William Buhlman Coast to Coast AM 2018". Many times one of the listeners has recorded it. It gets taken down quickly though.

That is a good question... Not 100% sure why I stop, never really thought about it. Best answer I can give at thins point it either 1) I feel it is time to go to bed and get the rest 2) I feel the experience is over and I wont get anything more out of it. I realize my believing make is so.

You may be correct, Once I feel a part of mu body moving I focus on it and work on getting it to move more. No that I think about it the limb that is moving never dose what I want it to do.  :?

Ha ha ha.... Yes I would love the experience of opening my eyes and seeing my physical body laying on the bed. But I also realize that I will get what I need, when I need it, and it may not be what I think I want.

Okay, I know this is something I missed when I was doing the original post.... Thanks for the question....

After a bit into the process. I will start looking into the blackness and work on keeping my mind silent.
After a few seconds it is almost like there is... Don't really know how to explain this in words...
But it is like a second set of eye lids is slowly lowered over the "Blackness" that was originally their and as the "eye lids" (We will call them that for now as I don't know how ells to explain it) slowly lower over my eyes the blackness becomes blacker... This is where the small electric shock sensation comes over my whole body.

As far as wanting to re-adjust my eyes... yes i think i know what you are talking about but cant say for sure. More so i get the feeling as if sand is placed where my upper eye lids would contact my lower eye lids. Not sad in my eyes but just where the two touch. It is really hard to not open them. I can usually will it away and not pay much attention to it.

Even at this time (Bed Time) when I am physically and mentally exhausted I still find I am able to keep my mind alert (really without much effort) and I will only fall asleep when I make the conscious decision to do so.

Now on the other hand you are right I do know that some nights (rare) I am way to tired to lay their and project so I opt to just go to bed.
But I will set an intent to project upon waking or remembering my dreams... Something like that.

Sorry you are right I meant to say "Direct" ... Got the two mixed up.

I as well play games with counting, I find counting works well for me to keep my mind active when needed.

Think I'm giving up to soon? On average a session will go to 20 - 25 minutes. I set a 30 min alarm. Sooooo I will usually make the decision to end the session (as I detailed in my original post) due to the fact the usually after the second set of "eye lids" come don nothing really happens so I end the session and go to bed. I take it I should keep my focus harder than ever at this point and push through the nothingness?

I did just start venturing in to techniques like these only a couple months ago.
Have not had much /any success with these yet but am still trying theses out on the weekends or, if i don't have to work the next day.

SCHMUSTIN, there are many sensations and occurrences in this practice in general that are very hard to describe. The "feelings", eye movement impulse, things like that are hard to describe. You just kind of learn like you are blind and getting to "see" for the first time. You have to "feel" around.

That link above should help you with your focus. The trick is to keep your eyes centered, more like targeted. Instead of having them chase the visuals, try using just your "peripheral vison" to see and take in al the movements in your "visual screen".

Also, I noticed how you stated that you put 30 minutes into this. When I first began practicing in 2011, I would put at least an hour in before I got to feel any kind of intense vibrations. Sometimes it took a hour and half. It took me that long, because like you, I was chasing visuals and focusing on every little vibration, etheric body movement, basically anything that occurred. It was like one step forward, 3 steps back. I was constantly "resetting". But then I learned to just trust and passively observe all that I was seeing or feeling, until I just "knew", it was time to engage the scene/reality I was experiencing.

My problem is I haven't spontaneously gotten to the vibration stage during my sleep for like a year, at least not while conscious. Then suddenly it happened tonight, but that immense fear
had returned and I wasn't prepared and just wanted back into my body, even though I was already out.. :(
I know that fear. Once in awhile, it still gets me today too. I then kick myself for letting it, after the fact!  :-(

Congratulations! Almost!  :-)

Had a Frank K flashback reading this, as about 2 yrs ago when I found this place and was reading his compilations, he always talked about the eyes. I don't think Ive seen hardly ANY posts since then about this part of the body. So much concern about relaxing the body, but how much impact can restless eyes have? Frank suggested looking up with eyes closed to the point of slightly straining them if I recall. I know for me, in the beginning, my eyes are sort of jerking and searching for something to focus on. Is there a consensus on direction of eyes and/or is it just a matter of doing other things like counting to take our focus away from eyes? Not sure if Im getting my point/question  :?
I had issues all kinds of issues with my eyes. Sometimes they felt like my eyelids were opening. I fixed that with a "Blindfold". I used to use the "Mindfold", but it got rather ragged, so I replaced it with a much better design. The mindfold lasted me a year though. It wasn't comfortable to sleep with though. This one is: https://www.dreamessentials.com/product-66/escape-luxury-sleep-mask-with-earplugs-and-carry-pouch

The movement of the eyes be bothersome. I found a way to fix that too, by focusing upwards, like I was now seeing with my 3rd eye or what they call the "Mind's eye". It was like changing screens, from visual to more of a mental picture. It's hard to explain, but when you do it, your physical eyes won't "chase" the visuals anymore.

I found that once I truly learned to "passively observe", that visuals just began happening quicker and with more vividness. I normally ignore a visual until it does become very vivid. This means that there is a stage of "fade ins and fade outs". You normally know when it's time to "engage" the scene.

I used to have a great link over at Xanth's Forum in Destynee's Plan sub-forum there. It was in a thread titled "Learn to Focus". The link went to a YouTube video where you watched a ball moving around the screen. The screen would change dramatically from clouds to mountains, etc.. The challenge was to keep your focus on the center of the screen, while the images around it were moving. It really taught you how to "lock in" and hold your focus.
I doesn't seem to be there anymore. But I know YouTube did a major clean-up of all there prior videos. Copyrights and everything.
Here it is. I just found it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxvb9pgkrvI&list=PL2RpAxWhbdxqDI-jyPdG5826X6Vgoktu0

Another great "target focus" is candle staring. I am a strong proponent of that. You do it in a pitch black room, so that you can only see the flame in front of you. You stare at the flaming candle for about 10-15 minutes. You then blow out the candle and immediately close your eyes. Now, there is a automatic "imprint" of that candle's flame in visual screen. The trick is to hold it as long as you can. When it goes away, will it back. Play with that for a while, with complete focus on the task at hand and watch what happens. Candle staring was my first totally conscious "Direct" experience. While staring at the imprint in my closed eyes visual screen, I started feeling vibrations. They came on quite quickly and soon I felt like I was in a actual Earthquake. The sounds that accompanied it were of what could only be described as a Helicopter about to land on my home. Then everything went silent and I was seeing the room I was in. I then felt movement and saw I was venturing around my home. It was scary, but I was hooked, lol!

Ok here I go.  I am going to explain in word, the best I can, the process I go through while working on projecting.

So, with my schedule, I use mainly what people refer to as the "Indirect Method".
I have started using the direct method but this is challenging LOL. Still a work in progress.

I know the "Indirect Method" is supposed to be a little bit harder of a way to go but for some reason I have always been drawn to it.

-I will go to bed about 30 to 45 minutes earlier.
-I take about 1 – 3 minutes to relax.
-At this point I will usually say a mantra a couple times.
-I will now start by counting (Backwards).
-Then try visualization. Or just looking into the blackness behind my eye lids.
- I will sit/lay and just keep my mind a quiet as possible and sit in silence. This is something I just started doing. I used to always be doing something in my mind but I find that as soon as I basically make it go silent, I get this feeling that my entire bode "tightens" ever so slightly, almost like a very small electric shock. Is this normal? If so, what should I do?
-Once I get the small electric sensation I mention in the point above. My mind will automatically start on a mantra or counting or having thoughts fly in/through it.
-Shortly after this I will start to get the sensation of movement hands, feet or head, or a combination. But have not had more than a partial exit. That I am aware of.
...and then what happens? Why did you stop?

Quotefeel it is important to note that in the last 4 – 6 weeks I am able to get a feeling of my hands legs or head moving. Fairly quick into the process, I would say on average 5 – 10 min.
Those are just effects though. It sounds like you are more focused on them than you are the actual exit. Passively observe them with a "air of curiosity".

I do have a few questions though. When you first start noticing the darkness before your eyes, do you get a slight impulse to "re-adjust" your eyes? I ask this because lately I have been attempting to slow the process down so I can note every little thing. I will get a impulse after having my eyes closed, whereas it is a urge to readjust my closed eyes. Like refocusing. If I ignore it, the urge will strengthen until it almost becomes like a "exploding head" effect. I ignore it further and almost immediately the darkness begins to change and I feel vibrations. I think this urge is one of those tests your body does to see if you still are still awake. When you beat the urge, your body will naturally begin to go through the normal/natural sleep pattern,  that you normally aren't consciously aware of.

What kind of exit are you "expecting"? Are you looking for a "etheric", full body exit?

You have chosen one of the toughest times to project. Many people prefer the 3-4 am hour to awake and attempt their exit. The reasons for this being that they normally already have 4-5 of hours of sleep in and now have interrupted their REM cycle. When you first go to bed at night, you are already mentally tired and ready to completely "tune out".

Another time people are successful is after they awake in the morning. They program their minds to not move or even open their eyes when they naturally awaken in the morning. This makes it easier to go back from where they just came, their last Dream or they can make a new intent and discover that. They haven't fully reoriented themselves to their physical waking body yet.

Then there is the process wake back to bed. Whereas you awaken, get up for about 1/2 an hour, then go back to bed and do a attempt. Once again, this is successful because you still haven't full oriented yourself yet to being awake. Just don't drink a coffee, lol?

You call your technique "Indirect", but to me, I still see it as "Direct". There was no loss of consciousness involved. When I do what you did above, set my affirmation and notice before I go to sleep, that will normally lead to a LD, not a full bells and whistles projection.

Other than that, I would say your technique is good. Counting, Mantras, etc. work very good for some people. I like playing games with counting. Once in awhile I mentally count to 300. Sometimes, I change it up and just run 1-20 and 20-1 in a continuous cycle. I even like to do the more challenging way, which is counting and as soon as my thought leaves the count, which happens often, I immediately start the count over again. This is great way to "lose yourself" while you are awaiting the natural shift to occur. It also teaches you how to "hone" your focus ability.

I think you may be giving up to soon. I find the "separation/shift" occurs, after all the bells and whistles have been exhausted. I shift during the "calm" after the storm, per se.

I don't like to practice in my bed though. In my view, "bed is for sleeping". We train ourselves all our lives for that. Instead, get up and use a comfortable chair.

I have given you some things here to work on and I am sure some other experienced members here will soon share what works for them and how to possibly help you as well. Apply what feels right.

Good Luck!  :-)

Very interesting experience LB!
The one time that I went to sleep in a LD and then woke up, was an indicator of a significant NP experience (Talking to the Hand). Is the recognition of that supposed to be an internal signal to 'ourself' that this experience is moving to a deeper level?
If I can chime in here, in my experience, I would say "yes". It seems important to the "System", to show you when you have "graduated", let's say, to a new level, per se.

QuoteTrust in the process...woo, woo, woo...lol. Aaaaaaarrrggghh!
That seems to be all we "can" do. When you do that, you open yourself up to whole new knowledge. Your "show" of trust, is always rewarded in some shape or form. Sometimes it takes a long time to finally understand what you are being shown or taught. Case in point, your "Talking to the Hand" experience from years ago, EV.

I just ended my Phase/soak session and today I focused on this thread here and especially your current situation SCHMUSTIN.

To add to the OP's quote above, I would also put the invite out for those that have had their 3-5 "buys" already and wish to take it up a notch. A buy in my use here, means that you have already had a few successes and now find it even more challenging to get back again, as in "stuck".  We could possibly use the thread for that as well. Making it a win, win "win" for everyone. Unless people here think that it would be better to we want to start another thread for that kind of conversation.

SCHMUSTIN, while focusing on your dilemma, without even knowing your chosen technique, I was shown it is more about the "Technician", than it is the "technique " in this case. So, we need to work on that. A good way to start is to have a good meditative talk with you and your higher self to find out why you are being challenged here. Next we can work on things like strengthening your focus ability in general. That's what I see and what my help to you at this current time would be.

The good thing about this "Hotline" idea is that we can get viewpoints from other members and experiencers here as well. You may not like what one person has to say and seem to sway more to another's view or way of helping. As long as the end result is the same, that's all that matters here.

Sammie, post away! We are all ears!

SCHMUSTIN, post it here. That way other people can benefit from the advise you receive here. I have a feeling that many people share the same problems when attempting to project/consciously shift.

All kidding aside, I think this a great idea!  :-)

So, SCHMUSTIN, where do you feel your "block" is? As per the OP, tell us what your technique is, step by step and where you feel you are getting stuck. Let's see if we can help you turn your situation into the first success story here. What do you expect to come out of all of this?

Since we don't have a "like" button here, this will have to suffice!  :-)  8-)

I need much practice , but having done these exercises on a routine on many Saturdays , I noticed that now it will happen on its own , I will feel the separation and go into an nice experience that I can recall. They will be maybe a mixture of a dream landscape and some lucidity.
Excellent Plume!  8-)

You are now seeing the benefits of your "routine" and continued practice sessions. Brain Entrainment is a real thing!  :-)

I find the same thing, but also find allot of good information as well. Almost like you need to pick out what you believe as truth at this point in your journey.
Yes, you definitely have to separate the "wheat from the chaff"!
