Well, the all dark soul bugger is stealing my secrets. I so want to name him.
If the "dark soul bugger" is your higher self in disguise it already knows your secrets!

I have found myself, especially in the other realms, that sometimes a negative occurrence is a blessing in disguise. It took a while to understand that though. Not everything is "cut and dry" over there. Communication period is something you need to get used to. Communicating is done either through "Telepathy" or tests, quests and challenges. I very rarely get a simple yes or no answer.

Vegaone, perhaps this "chap" is a blessing in disguise. Perhaps it is the "inspiration" behind your experimentations and new explorations. We don't always have to look at it as a negative. It seems to be creating a deep desire in you to learn more. I see that as a positive.

Once again, changing your mindset, changes your reality!  :-)

I think I developed this problem because I used to ap instantly when I do an ap technique.   Now it takes time.
Hmm, that sounds strange. You should be able to do it faster than before. Perhaps you are being challenged to find a new way or technique to AP.

To tell you the truth, many times when I just close my eyes something is already there. This has come through hard work and determination. I lie or sit down to do a session, get comfortable and ready for the long haul, but I find that there is already something on my visual screen that all I need to do is passively observe as the scene progresses.

It shocks me, because as I said, I am preparing myself for the long haul, which sometimes it can be and all of a sudden I have shifted that quickly. I don't have immediate control over the scene though and I have used no intent whatsoever besides closing my eyes and wanting to do a session, which could is still intent. But I know you know what I mean by that. What I see is not a part of my imaging, because what I see I am not thinking of at the time.

An example of this. Yesterday I closed my eyes to relax and immediately I felt movement. On my visual screen was grass and trees passing by, like a person sees while driving. I haven't driven anywhere for a couple days now and at that time that was the furthest thing from my mind. I watched and "allowed" the scene to grow more vivid. Soon I was driving or flying. It's hard to tell because I didn't see any hands on a wheel. I couldn't see any body form of my own at all. I may have just been point consciousness going for a ride.

At first my physical body was experiencing "vertigo" from the movement. But then I got so deep into the shift that I couldn't even tell, nor wanted to know, what my physical body was experiencing. I was just enjoying the scenario at hand.

ALLOWING is a huge word here though. People ask, what do you mean by "allowing"? You do exactly what the word says. You don't fight it, question it or change it. You see the scenario at hand through and keep your focus on it and it until it fades away and you find your focus back here in the physical again. There is plenty of time to question it afterwards. At the time, you ENJOY it!  :-)

There are soooooooooooooooooo many different and exciting techniques out there that I can't see how anyone could get bored with this. I change my approach all the time, sometimes right in the middle of my session. Sometimes I feel like trying or doing one thing, other times I change it up.

But when I experiment, I usually stay the course on one technique, method or idea until I have given it a fair chance. Then I move on.

You are right though Thaomas, when I do a session, there is nothing more exciting going on here in this physical realm at the moment. But every time I do a session I am "all in", so I really don't find it boring at all. Every new thing I experience perks me up a bit. Even the 3D darkness can lead to adventures of it's own. But normally I use the 3D darkness just to relax and completely let go of this physical realm.  :-)

Thaomas, every night when you go to sleep as usual, your mind and body are in sync with the goal of going to sleep. If you wish to learn Tibetan Dream Yoga, then you need to break that sync and have your body go to sleep, but your mind to remain awake. The same is with the act of Phasing or any other AP/OBE technique.

When you divert your focus into another area (aka the Astral), your body does go into shut off mode, as in sleep, because you are no longer consciously controlling it. The body does that normally every night as it is.

It can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours to finally be able to shut the body off and keep the mind aware, leading to a projection of some kind. This only happens when you are extremely stressed or are attempting a OBE.

But in your defense, I saw a commercial on TV last night that said the average person can only maintain 8 seconds of focus, before they divert it to something else. People that have APs, OBES and LDs aren't your average person. We seem to have the ability to hold our focus elsewhere for sometimes a very long period of time. That's why I say "practice, patience and perseverance" is greatly needed to achieve (on a regular basis) some form of non local states of consciousness.

This is why I use my "etheric exercises" on a daily basis. It teaches me how to maintain a strong focus away from my physical body. I find that very helpful to this practice in general. I don't need to focus on a apple or a square. I use my backyard and all of the trees, bushes, the garden, etc. as things I try to explore while in the etheric realms. Believe it or not, there is always something new to find. I found the same thing when I was new and always used my "Happy Place", which was a Island Paradise, as my focus target. I would explore and always find some new adventure there. Our "Happy Places" are very easy to visualize. They could be a place you saw in a Movie or TV show or even a place that you are very familiar with that you may have visited on a vacation. Your memories can be always be utilized in the practice.

My only issue right now is simply trying to ignore the signs when they happen. It definitely takes practice
Don't ignore them. Passively observe them, mentally note them, then stay the course!  :-)

...and yes that does take practice, but this isn't a race. Progress at a speed that works for you personally!

Your impression was correct, I was referring to the conscious projection. However, sleep still plays a part in this technique doesn't it?
Once again, the LD, AP, OBE comparison is going to come into play.

Sleep is NOT a part of a conscious AP or even a conscious OBE. Sleep is important to a LD simply because you need to become aware you are sleeping and in a dream in the first place. Sleep Paralysis, which occurs during sleep, may lead to a conscious AP or OBE. But many people don't get SP. I have asked many people and I would say out of 30 people, 1 person reported experiencing SP. It's funny though because out of those 30 people, only 1 or 2 even remembered dreaming on a regular basis. I know it's hard to believe, but we are on a Forum named the Astral Pulse, so we have already "awoken" to this or at least we are in the process of awakening to it.  :-)

We don't lack the focus to override our senses. Instead we lack the belief that we can. Most of this practice is about unlearning what we have learned. Hence my "change your mindset, change your reality" quote that I always use ...or what I also say "remembering what we once knew".

Mind awake/body asleep doesn't mean that you lose your conscious awareness. It just means that you no longer are focusing on your physical body, which in turn leads to a shift in your awareness. Your physical body is and should be the only thing going to sleep. If you are using mind awake/body asleep and are losing your conscious awareness, then it most definitely will not lead to a immediate AP/OBE (in the true sense of the words), but may end up in a LD sometime during the night, purely by your intent.

A trance, which one can enter attempting a AP is not sleep. Even in a deep trance one is still consciously aware.

Congratulations Sammie.  :-) The 3D darkness is a very peaceful area to find yourself in. Sometimes that's as far as I go. But it's always welcomed. It's a zone that you find yourself in where you are totally in the "now". No past, no future, just the sense of being.

To stay there, use your intent! It works the same way if you want to leave that area. A strong focused will and intent will always lead the way.

It seems as if focus is counter productive to the goal because sleep is achieved most quickly by doing the opposite of focus.
I see that we aren't both on the same page here. My bad!  :-(

I thought you were talking about having a projection from a conscious state of mind, as in a conscious shift or OBE, going through the entire process, not just waking up in a LD. This seems to be the problem with combining all these LD, AP and OBE together as one. There are so many misinterpretations of our meanings and things get confused quickly.

I agree with your statement though that maintaining a conscious focus can be counterproductive while going to sleep as normal.

I will say something else to people as a small warning. Be careful what you wish for. I practiced many a night to stay conscious into my dreams. I finally got what I wished for, but it was at the expense of completely destroying my regular lay down, close my eyes and fall asleep routine. Instead I would lie down, close my eyes and not be able to turn off for hours on end. It took quite a while to learn how to turn on and off the Tibetan Dream Yoga. For awhile it was automatic.

I also found this with wanting to remember "all" of my nightly dreams. Once again, I got what I wanted, but at the expense of waking up after every single dream for nights on end. That got to be very exhausting.

If so what should I have done? Any advice would help I been wanting to accomplish this what feels forever now with little to no success whatsoever
Pick out any one of these and use it next time. Each and every one of them contains the most important thing to this practice this and that's a strong focused will and intent.

First "progressive relaxation" for about 10 minutes, followed by creative visualization and sometimes "etheric exercises/tetrahedral points", then BLAST OFF!  :-D

I enjoy the progressive relaxation because it feels so good to completely abandon any physical discomfort. I start off every session by thinking and seeing the words "By my act of will I release my focus over my physical body".

I enjoy the creative visualization portion of my sessions because that is my time to experiment anew. The visualizing can be a simple sport simulation like throwing a Frisbee or rowing a boat, but soon it opens up into it's own scenario.
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_permanent_astral_topics/active_imagination_techniques_carl_jung-t32634.0.html

Etheric Exercises are fun because they teach you control over your "NP" form. Tetrahedral points and tug o wars because it shows you just how real this really is. You are activating more than just your sense of sight, now you are activating your tactile sense as well. The more senses you use, the easier it is to fully shift. The key is to NEVER look back, until you are finished with the session at hand that is.

I find if someone is new to this Art and wishes to find out if this is really "real", then the thread on the Phantom Wiggle found here is just what they need to read. I always say prove it to yourself. I already did!

This is a good thought, but I think it is incomplete; some projection authors describe that it is perfectly fine and possible to project while those "monkey mind" thoughts are happening. However, it is necessary to maintain concentration while those background threads of thought pass through. I think of it like watching TV show that you are intent on not missing while a person is trying to talk to you.
As long as you are using your "Monkey Mind" in the same way that you use "counting numbers" or any other focus technique like the ones found in my "Doorway" thread, there shouldn't be any hindrance at all. The goal is to keep your mind off of your immediate physical body, not to keep your mind blank. I hear people say they can't stay awake while attempting AP and I find that is because for some reason they think they need to empty their minds to project. When they empty their minds, they lose their conscious focus entirely.

QuoteI have tested this theory from within an OBE by deliberately thinking of my body and this reality, which normally ends the experience, while maintaining a strong primary awareness of the room I was seeing. The experience remained as stable as ever.
This is a skill that can be achieved with someone who already understands this Art to begin with and has plenty of practice under their belt. The duality focus is not for everyone, at least in the beginning that is.

QuoteMaybe the bottom line is not to let the thoughts interfere with your primary focus or concentration.
I think the "bottom line" is to find a focus technique that works for yourself personally. There are so many of them. People just need to find the one that works for them. That comes through experimenting. I find that the "pathway to success" is equal to the "being there". Both of them are experiences and we learn from them in different ways. I also find that when you keep a open mind, you will never find yourself in stasis. Once you think you know it all, the learning and teachings end.  I was caught in that mode for awhile too. I see that thinking often on this Forum and others as well.

I hear often here on this Forum how we come to this realm to experience "Love". That quote is half right. We come to this realm to "experience". Love is one of those experiences!

 Your Welcome Nameless!  :-)

To tell you the truth, I got more great information from this video that doesn't even teach any techniques or applications on the how to project. It is just loaded with great info on why we do it and what "types" of people do it. The "types" of people was more based on what types of "personality" traits they have. You have to listen to the whole video to understand what I am saying. Actually you have to watch it about 10 times to finally get the whole picture. It is loaded with so much great info that every time you watch it you will swear you are hearing it anew for the first time! You can also find the "classification" that you are most like. It was very enlightening. It gets pretty deep though.

More entertaining is this one by Dr. Stanislov Grof.

"Why Don't Projectors Make Use of ...", I find it's because many of them seem to know better than the ones that actually do succeed and that for some reason they don't have the time or the patience to apply what is being told to them.

I used to give people that said they were very serious about this a simple 1 and half hour video to listen to that would introduce them to the concept of "non physical exploration". They would tell me they watched it and I would kind of probe with my own questions some things pertaining video, just to find out they didn't watch it at all. Why you may ask. Because they didn't think it was necessary. It wasn't the video I cared about. It was just a test I used to gauge their level of determination.

Everything you do to succeed in this Art shows to yourself and your "higher self" your level of commitment. That in in itself is extremely important. When I first began I bought a $200.00 training video on Astral Projection. The creator of that program was well known for Hypnosis/Subliminal CDs. That amount to me was high at the time. But to me, for me to purchase it showed that I was dead serious about learning how to learn to consciously shift. I found it useful for the introduction and basic techniques he used, especially in his "walkthroughs".

Each and every positive affirmation/suggestion, meditation you do, Etheric practice, etc. is known as "Brain Entrainment". I say change your mindset, you change your reality. Now you see how I did it myself.

I use affirmations EVERY night still today. I also have LDs and do at times have the ability to shift at will. Why is this. Read what I said above again. I have watched 2-3 hour videos over and over again. I have read and reread books by the famous Authors of AP and even other people's posts here and on other Forums over and over again. I also listen to subliminal Binaural Beat/Isochronic tones CDs.

I am not a member of this "Now Generation". I know there is no rush. We have our lifetimes to learn!

Vessen, one more question. Could your hypothesis also be related to the Russian Torsion Field Theory/Technology?
This is also found outside of the physical form. But unfortunately is currently labelled by the Scientific Community as "Pseudoscience".
A torsion field (also called axion field, spin field, spinor field, and microlepton field) is a feature of a pseudoscientific theory of energy in which the quantum spin of particles can be used to cause emanations lacking mass and energy to carry information through vacuum orders of magnitude faster than the speed of light. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torsion_field_(pseudoscience)
http://blog.world-mysteries.com/science/torsion-the-key-to-theory-of-everything/

I have studied Scalar Waves and years ago I began reading about a healing device known as the "Scenar Device", that was created by Russian Scientists years ago. At first it was also known as "Pseudoscience". But now it is being used in Hospitals and Clinics around the World. The first time I saw it in the USA, the company selling it gave no acclaim whatsoever to the real creators of the device. To tell you the truth, at the time I had first seen it, you could find American websites that were claiming it to be a scam. So sad, so sad!  :-(

The same occurred with "Rife Machine" when it first introduced. So I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

Mind awake-body asleep is excellent for this. But, it can take quite a wile to achieve, especially for a someone new to Astral Projection. Some nights I can achieve it quite quickly, other nights it's a good hour/hour and half before I find success. I think it really matters how long it takes to be able to "turn off" your day and totally relax into it.

I use a technique akin to Vessen's VEA, Fred Aardema's (Major Tom) Vigil Method, (both of which you can find on this Forum here), that will lead to a RTZ exit as well. So will my own technique that can be found in the "Phantom Wiggle" thread.

My Phasing techniques don't though. With those I just visualize a simple object, like a spinning top, burning flame, until the simple scene begins to take on it's own life, then I just "meld" into the scenario at hand. Sometimes while attempting this technique I can find myself in a "dual reality" situation. Whereas I am seeing there, but still hearing and feeling here.

Now achieving spontaneous Sleep Paralysis by using a pre-nap technique will always lead to a RTZ zone experience for me. (Bedeekin, a former member here created a good pre-nap technique called "Bedeekin's Method".) At least that is at first. I exit the body in the RTZ and then when I get on the other side of my patio window, I find myself "elsewhere", in some new realm. This is the way it works for me though. But I seem to be led or pulled out when I find myself in SP.

Like Volgerle said though there have been many reports and instances of people having spontaneous OBEs during traumatic events, deep focus in their sports training and just a leisurely hiking trip. These instances are few and far between, but they still occurred for those people.

Thank You for that thought provoking answer and well detailed answer Vessen!  :-)

I could understand the vibrational aspect of it according to what I know of Quantum Science. But the accompanying sound aspect of it had me perplexed.

I have seen many tests using sound to create patterns in water and sand crystals. So I can see the correlation between sound and vibration. I just didn't know how it all came together in this practice.

Quote from: ThaomasOfGrey on August 12, 2016, 01:05:06
In my experience you do only get the vibrations if you maintaining some kind of focus on the physical. If I use the lay completely still for a long time approach I will usually get the vibrations, particularly when combined with the "reaching".

On the other hand if I just take no approach in particular, it is always an instant transition into a mini dream with no sounds or vibrations at the crossover.
Interesting observation there Thaomas. I think this is the difference between a more proactive attempt and simply blending or should I say Phasing into "NP'. With Phasing you don't normally have any physical exit symptoms. If you do start to feel them, you need to actually change into more of a proactive attempt. I find that if you mix the two of them together that it is very confusing and normally will not yield favorable results.

I have been using Vessen's technique for about 3 years now. I have slowed the process and experimented with almost every way I could possibly think of to find the best and also fastest way to achieve. My goal being to find a fool proof method that works for all.

I have ways to utilize visualization to help. Just today I was working with some more breathing techniques to help increase the length of focus that someone new to this could hold. I found that if you first go through a simple progressive relaxation, to get comfortable, then follow it up with very calm and relaxed breathing, that I could inhale very slowly and deeply and on the exhale I put my focus on whatever point/direction I wished and drew the energy back to me to for the entire duration of that slow relaxing exhale. After a few minutes of this, you can cycle to other directions/points if you wish as well. You will find that by using this simple tech, that your energy body is revving up to speed quite quickly. The key is to keep your focus on the task at hand and not to keep looking back at what your physical body is doing. That is the hardest thing to do though, This is I find is exactly where people lose it and have to start all over again. Whether it's fear or curiosity, many people will take that "sneak peek" back and that's all it takes to lose control over that session.

Now for people that like to visualize the process, you can see a glowing orb of light and watch as the energy leaves the orb and approaches you. You could also create lines that just protrude from your body to the orb of light. Whatever you choose as your accompanying visual, make sure that it totally consumes your focus. You will find that soon there is no need to actually do any kind of exit technique, like climbing out of the body, etc. You will just be there. My first hint that I am "out" is I can see my immediate surroundings and watch as they become more vivid. The next thing I get is a feeling of motion, kind of akin to swaying, growing, expanding, rising, etc.

I believe that this technique can bring success to anyone. The focus on directional points has been taught by many of the AP authors. Fred Aardema (known as Major Tom on the Astral Pulse Forum) also created a directional method for achieving OBEs. Bob Monroe had his own as well that entailed drawing a line out from your physical body, then another one at the end of that line coming back at a 45 degree angle and ending above your head. All these authors of Astral Travel coming to the same methodology should show you that there is something tangible there that one can tap into.

But Vessen here is the first one I have ever seen coming at it from a 100% scientific (Quantum Physics) methodology, that is also backed up with a very well detailed Scientific explanation of what is occurring and why.

I am not that knowledgeable in the "nuts and bolts" of why, what and how of this, but I am a serious practitioner who has done quite extensive personal research in a attempt to unlock ways for even a new person to Astral travel to have enough success to prove it to themselves and see that there really is something there.

One last thing. I have to also give credit to Robert Bruce for his NEW (New Energy Ways). His NEW was what taught me how to create a strong etheric energy in the first place.
http://www.astraldynamics.com.au/content.php?130-new-energy-ways

I hope that creating this reply with more of a hands on approach, helps other people achieve success in this field as well.
Thank You!  :-)

Vessen, I can understand the vibrations as the etheric body is acclimating itself to the array. But how does the accompanying sound fit into your equation?

I have slowed the process down enough to be able to observe the entire process step by step. What I find is a "exit" doesn't occur until the "Astral winds" or pulsating sound becomes a constant. The same goes with the vibrations. Once the entire body is vibrating completely, a physical exit is imminent.

Now I know some people, like Szaxx for instance don't experience the vibrations. But I don' think they actively/consciously reach for the array either. Could this be something that is experienced "only" when using this kind of technique or approach? Those people do report the Astral winds though.

So, my conclusion is that the magnitude and the size of these obstacles represent my battle with the global world problems, not my personal. They are too big for me to fight on my own. I need to perhabs mentally connect with other people and gather all our energies together. I will be summoning all of you here during my sessions. Let me know if you get any abnormal dreams as a result. Don't worry, I am not an energy vampire LOL.
I think it might be deeper than that Lightbeam. I think we are tapping into the collective's battle on the Global World problems we are currently undergoing today. I see it all as cause and effect, action/reaction. But there is "fear" everywhere now. I questioned myself on whether it was my obstacle with this as well. But I understand and believe my viewpoint on all levels. So I knew it had to be the collective.

I am game with your "plan" as well!  :-) I think it's time to apply what we have learned!
#2021
First off, Thank You for your kind words Vessen!  :-)

People that are new to this will find that it may be easier to hold your focus onto one direction or one point more than the others. When this occurs, go with the flow and just concentrate on that point for now. Don't fight it. That works against you. For now just use the one point or direction that you feel the most comfortable with.

Once you can attain that focus, hold it for a period of time and draw the energy from it, then and only then move onto the next one. There is no need to rush yourself. Soon you will see that you can "manipulate" this energy as well.

I see too many times people jump in and try to do everything at once. This won't work and will lead you to abandon the technique period. Just remember, you need to learn to walk before you can run. Pace yourself and you will be duly rewarded for your efforts.

Edit: A friend of mine and former Moderator here named Contenteo once said this " I feel deep down, that OBE's aren't something to achieve quickly. Fast food is rarely healthy." I have found this to be true as well.

Thank You for the update Vessen. I am still a active practitioner of your technique. I spoke more about it in this thread here using my former name here "Lionheart". I use your technique as a "launch pad" for a NP adventure.
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_astral_consciousness/how_exactly_do_you_perform_the_phantom_wiggle_method-t44583.0.html

Once done correctly, you "know" for certain that there is a untapped energy that surrounds our vessels, that one day mainstream Science will be able to tap into. But, it takes quite a bit of practice to be able to access it on a regular basis. This technique is not for the "looky loos". You need to already have the ability to hold a strong NP focus for a lengthy amount of time to find success with this one.

As per our last conversation via a PM, does your new book contain more application and how to, more then based on "theory"?

The only conclusions we have come to is that something is "amiss". It could be caused by the constant bombardment of negativity that the media and people in general seem to be constantly talking about. Fear sells, but it can also start to work on programming the subconscious mind and this Art in general teaches us how to access the collective. So, I guess we can see firsthand the damage that is being done and how balance needs to be restored once more asap.

Here is one conversation that we are currently having on another Forum pertaining to this current "dilemma".
http://www.explorations-in-consciousness.com/forums/index.php?threads/flatspot.5282/

The American election has people Worldwide on their toes right now. At our Family reunion last weekend it got brought up and every one had a opinion on it and none of them were good.

Just last night I had 3 very lucid, very vivid Dreams whereas chaos was everywhere. Even with my "re-scripting", my hands were still tied. That has never happened before. My re-scripting has always found a solution or solutions that brought order back to the scenario at hand. It has effected my mood today as well. I have been in "funk" all day. I hate that!  :-P

We need to see more "feel good news and stories".
#2024
Lately I and some other members I have talked to on this and other Forums have been having very disturbing and challenging Dream scenarios. The problem is that theme seems to linger into the following day and is responsible for your current mood then as well. A positive adventure, like a Retrieval or Heroic scenario can create a day bliss upon awakening. A negative adventure, a day of depression.

It's almost like the "collective conscious" is in a state of disarray at the moment.  :| This has been occurring for over a month now and some I speak to are even saying that they feel like they have been totally blocked from using any form by of "shifting in consciousness" method period. Something is amiss.  :?

Great job, Nameless! I started performing mass healing meditation when I was a child, without even knowing that this was called meditation. It started when I heard about a little boy in England terminally ill, that he wanted to receive many post cards and get a Guinness record before he dies. I remember thinking how cruel this life is and how unfair it was that he got sick. Every night before bed I would close my eyes and mentally send him energy attacking his brain tumor. I don't know if I helped in any way. I did not read anything on the news. Back then we only relied on newspapers of course. It was hard to track any new information. For a long time I would also focus on entire hospitals to do mass healing. I was hoping to hear from the news that a miracle happened in such and such hospital and all patients got healed. I never did, but I hope at least they detected some comfort from me. To this day I still send blast energy waves around the world to comfort those who suffer. My empathy is very strong and many times I would just cry for others pain. For my own family, I receive validations every time things get out of balance. Thankfully, things have been going extremely well for me and my family. Many big achievements for all of us, which makes me happy. But I do focus on the world as a whole, because I would like to see it start improving soon, althought times are difficult and it seems like we are going downhill. I hope that people like us with collective energy will turn things around and influence somehow the way the global energy flows at the moment.
