I'm not into crystals but I do believe there is plenty of data to suggest that they have amazing properties.

Someone will come around and help you in that direction but in the meantime, I'd suggest not spending a lot of money on anything that you're unsure of. :-)

Good Ol' SP. It never fails to scare the bejeezus out of us. Except for Szaxx, he has never experienced SP.

The upside is that once you realize you are in that state, you CAN end the terror immediately and enjoy the free ticket to an OOBE.

Thank you for that link and welcome to the Pulse.

There are some very knowledgeable people there both skeptics and believers alike. The "believers" are getting trapped in the discussion that this is a phenomenon that can even be studied (much less verified) through scientific instruments.

I'm not saying that it can or can't but so far as we are led to believe, we do not currently have the technology to do so. This gives the skeptics the upper hand in their debate.

I know it's not a boxing match but treating it like one makes it far more entertaining especially since nothing useful will ever come of it. :-) :-)

It says that out of 2060 cardiac arrest patients, only 657 survived.

Out of that 657, only 152 would do an interview.

Out of 152, 30% (roughly 46 people)reported what qualifies as an NDE according to the study but no one reported seeing God or a white light. They only reported what they perceived to be happening in the room.

From there, they only tell us a tiny bit about two cases, not that only two people had the NDE.

Unfortunately they can't predict when and where someone will have a heart attack so no survivors that were interviewed happened to be in a room with prearranged images.

I oversee the conduct of clinical trials. Doctors are scared of me LOL, I have no patience for those who neglect patients safety.

You have no idea how comforting it is to know that someone like you is helping to keep them pharma guys legit, as much as possible anyhow.

This really makes my day. :-) :-) :-

QuoteI'm sure you see Non Physicals on the train as well Xanth. Possibly recently deceased still reliving their daily paths and travels, unbeknownst to them that they have passed on.

Probably unbeknownst to Xanth as well. Regardless of our beliefs, I think that once we have become aware of the wider reality, it has a way of becoming a part of our normal reality.

Oh boy! I get to put thinking hat on. :-D

I see it a lot as you described (and hats off to you for being able to meditate on your commute, that's sounds hard to do if Canadians are half as loud and boisterous in the mornings as your southern buddies :-D)

But once you have shifted your state of consciousness, all bets are off. Even if it's just a shallow trance. Your NP point of view could be coming from anywhere and may even be divided. It will still be "grounded" on the train because a part of your consciousness is still aware that you don't want to miss your stop.

You may be seeing the people that were there yesterday or may be there tomorrow. Another possibility is that what you are seeing is actually happening in real time except you are just seeing it from another seat and not the one you are physically occupying.

When this occurs in a more static environment like our living rooms, then we may come close to seeing everything as it currently is. With less variables, the experience can become more stable and easier to correctly perceive but even then, I'm sure you have seen your dog lying in his bed only to open your eyes and see that he isn't even in the room.

That's how I see it (for the time being anyhow). :-)

Hi there and welcome to the Pulse.

I haven't heard of the authors that you mentioned either.

Please feel free to share a little about their theories or ideas and most interestingly, any of your own. :-)

No one can say exactly what happened about but Phase was right when he said that it was a common thing. I have never had a real time zone OOBE where everything was as it was normally. I shouldn't say never but I can't think of one.

There are many theories as to why this is so and a search on and off site will no doubt overload you with plenty of them. :-)

I am a construction surveyor by trade but I only do that for about two out of three years. I make great money, save it and then do little renovation jobs on the side. I then spend it all on the third year living life and having a blast. I'm still single with no kids so I can do that kind of stuff.

Right now, I am preparing to begin my next two year work cycle but this will probably be the last time that I take a year off. I have to start planning for the future, whatever that may be. I have done so many side jobs during this supposed "no work year" that going back to surveying isn't as urgent as it had been in the past at times but there's a job coming up that is almost to good to pass up.

All in all, it is pretty boring, especially in comparison to a storm chaser but I do love my work. :-)

Ofen, I appreciate you trying to clear things up for me but my experience was an OOBE. I just didn't go into greater detail with a skeptic because I have a 100% accuracy rate of guessing their reply will be yeah..but.

By the way, did you notice that you tried  to explain it away by saying it might have been another phenomenon (RV), which can be just another form of an OOBE.

I'm sorry to hear that your first grade science experiment with chicken mcnuggets was enough to completely change your mind about the OOBE.

I'm not trying to purposely be rude but I find it shame that you have given up so easily.

Just so you know, 99.9% of all validations happen unexpectedly. Otherwise, someone would have sued James Randi a long time ago for not paying up the million bucks that he never had any intention on wagering in the first place.

If you really do have OOBE, I suggest you give up on the silly experiments so the real mind blowing stuff can begin. Never mind, I just read where you're scared of having to change your worldview so you're better off not having OOBE. :-)

No one here wants you to change your worldview based off of our experiences. That would just make you a fool. We want you to have your own. :-)

ok, you have a better story than mine? I know u can only prove to yourselve. I am curious what it could be, I want to listen about your experience. And dont cite any spiritual autors, share with me your own experience.

If this story is good, I will tell you another story, an self-experiment I did for myselfe two times on OBE. Since then I know the power of your mind and its limitation. Since these experiments I know it is all in your mind.

I generally consider it an exercise in stupidity to try and prove anything to a skeptic but there may be a few here who may want to hear the story.

In January of 2006, I was having a normal dream. I don't remember any specifics but I'm sure that I was saving the world or something like that. To make a long story short, I was told by someone in the dream to call my sister in the morning and tell her that the bag was behind their deep freeze.

We hadn't talked in a few months and I had already lost her number. No problem there since that one of the many great things that moms are good out.

I called her first thing since she lived in Maine and I was calling from Texas which meant that I was already an hour late. I could tell she was frantic and when I asked her why, she told me that she was missing the weekend sales from a benefit they had for my nephews school's fundraiser. It was almost two-thousand smackers. I told her to calm down because I knew exactly where it was.

She was a little annoyed at having to triple look behind the freezer but low-and-behold, it was right where the guy in my "dream" said it would be.

Using your logic of reducing skills, I could dismiss this all as coming from my mind because I already knew I has a sister and a school age nephew. I'll admit hat I had never visited them in Maine but common sense tells me that they have a freezer to keep their perishables from spoiling.

Good point OFEN, I am already convinced.

Ofen, You are like a ray of golden sunshine after a long and hard winter. Finally someone has come to spread the light on us ignorant folks who just don't know any better.

Better yet, you are to us what the Russian Army was when they were driving the Nazi's back west. Every bomb or shell that exploded just a single kilometer closer to the concentration camps gave those poor souls the ability to hope once again since they knew their liberation was soon at hand.

For no one here knew that their was another possible explanation: It's all in our heads. Your theory that if if was trur, then the people who access to all this information would have some huge advantage over those that don't...What are you talking about? :?

Please don't lose all your credibility by saying, "Well if you can project, than you can get the Lotto Numbers." Or maybe you were referring to those of us who can throw soccer size balls of flames at our enemies.

The only advantage we have over anyone us our previous self. I am not in the business of calling people liars unless I am speaking to one. It's a shame that you may have had a few incredible dreams and stopped short at thinking , "Wow. I'm a smart guy and I have finally had an OOBE. Now can I can report back that it is all in our heads and we can get back to the important stuff, like who is gonna win this years VMA's Award.

Ofen, Anybody can do this and with time, they will eventually prove it real to themselves if they maintain an open mind.

Your coca-cola story where you saw your brother drink a coke one time explains exactly how you would of had a dream in which you saw he had more cokes in the exact same place in his fridge where you saw them at in your dreams. That could have been a minor validation in our book but not the jaw dropping type that many of us have had on more than one occasion.

But hopefully this report will just bring us back to your reality where we are all equal until we are not.

I wasn't trying to answer the question of energy work being a real phenomenon. I was just replying to the original question as to whether or not it is necessary to project.

In my case, the answer is no and it appears to be true for a few others as well.

I am not close-minded to it's validity or importance. I just haven't personally found a reason to do it myself but like I said, I am completely open to it should the day come that I feel it is needed. :-)

RB has a knack for making things very easy to understand and you can tell that he knows what he is talking about. I think he is able to get through to beginners more easily than a lot of other well known authors and authorities on AP/

But like everyone else, his beliefs dictate what he sees and thus what he learns and reports back. We don't have to aree with everything they say to like them. At least I don't. :-)
#241
I have never done any kind of energy work. I don't know the name of the chakras. With that said, I do not discount the importance or the validity of it all as I know that a great many people benefit from it. I even believe that it has probably saved the lives of some people and helped to improve their overall health.

If the day comes that I fell as if I am not progressing or I see another need to, then I will even consider doing energy work myself.

IMO, I think that trying to do too many things at once is a hindrance and can become confusing when trying to understand the different terminology and viewpoints.

For years, I didn't even know that I was meditating. I just considered it relaxing and clearing my mind.

This doesn't imply that their is no benefit to doing energy work before you are able to AP. It may even enhance your experiences and accelerate your learning.

I don't know what I don't know but I do know that I had my first intentional OOBE relatively quickly and I was about as ignorant as you could be when it came to all the techniques, methods and philosophies regarding the matter.

But I had belief galore that it was real and that I could do it. :-)

Bruce Lipton has a theory that when a species has reached the apex of their individual evolution the next step is for them to develop a collective or hive consciousness. He says that technology ,i.e, computers and cellphones are an example of how we are evolving right now.

For the first time in human history (as far as we are allowed to know anyhow ), an idea can theoretically spread to all parts of the world in less than an hour.

For the time being at least, I see it doing the opposite. People are losing their person skills and some of the younger generation haven't even developed any social skills to lose in the first place.

Time will tell. :-)

Dareg,

We will never know all there is to know about the astral but you already know plenty and more than most. I think you are just dealing with some bad news and your confidence is waning as a result.

The astral punks that you had a run in with recently probably sensed this and caused you to react in a manner that you would have otherwise avoided.

I'm sure you already know that fighting anything in the astral is never the solution. It works temporarily but I suspect that it is only because it shows you have a strong will more than anything since it isn't actually possible to inflict any kind of physical harm to these NP punks.

In regards to what you said about not having any friends, all I can say is that we share some stories and our experiences here with each other that we wouldn't tell some of our closest friends in our every day lives. That may not be the type of friendship that you are referring to but we are listening and give whatever honest insight we can provide. That means a lot in my book.

You're not losing any ground. You're just losing some confidence and that can and will be overcome so long as you are willing to work at it. You don't sound like the quitting type. :-)

I have many years experience in OBEs and did a lot of experiments in terms of verification. First I thought it must be real, because it looks so real. But everyone who do this for a longer time comes to the result: its all in your mind.

There are many crazy stories around the world about obe, near death experiences. Someone will say, why should all these people lie?
But you must realize,  there are also many storys about ufos, nessie, big food and so on. People can lie on themselve. And sometimes, they lie for money and a little bit attention. So go to bed, start an obe and make your own experience and do not read so much stories.

I hope this study will be serious and give us the results so that esoteric people can change their perception about obe s. I love this phenomenon, but reading all this bovine excrement from some esoteric people on the internet disturbes me.

I guess it's fair to say that I disagree with most of what you said.

Much of the phenomenon can be explained and attributed to the physical body yet there is much that can't. You seem to think that what can't be physically explained must be a lie (I assume because you haven't had the same experience and if you did, you were able to rationalize it away).

My introduction to this phenomenon was spontaneous and  not welcomed. For years I was able to rationalize much of it away but just as soon as I did, another experience would occur that was not easily explained (not with my old frame of mind anyhow).

In the end, it only matters to the individual and no one else. :-)

If they were in a limbo, you may have given them some hope. At the very least, they now know that it is possible to leave that place.

That should change the way they think which changes everything. :-)

CFT,

Your last post reminded me of a short video that a couple supposedly captured on a webcam in their newborn's room.

In it, their five year old son pushes a stool up to his baby brother's crib and looks down at him and asks, "Tell me how beautiful heaven is, I already forgot."

True or not, it will make most people with a heart shed a tear.

Plasma,

You keep asking HOW but do you really mean WHY?

I am simply pointing out that I think it firmly lies in area that we can explore, but only speculate about.

There is a group at TMI that bring "back" details with them and then verify them in the historical records as much as possible.

They have had some incredible hits.

Still, I see no difference in them compared to older bands like Cannibal Corpse or Deicide.

Their evilness is so over the top that it becomes cartoonish.

The guttural singing is what made me never get into this stuff back when there was a small window of opportunity.

Do you just want someone to say that this music is evil and you should never listen to it again?

The double bass also makes me a little nauseous. I never wanted to say this in my life but I really can't understand what they are saying anyways. They could be singing about bottle feeding baby puppies and I wouldn't know the difference.
