Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Disturbing ET dream
May 15, 2020, 18:36:17
The bizarre, negative and disturbing Dreams still continue. At least I can't remember last night Dream, so I had a bit of a reprieve. I haven't listened to any news period for the last week now.

These Dreams seem to follow something similar to Szaxx's "Badland's" experience of the past. There always seems to be some kind of "Boss". Be it a Godfather, King, Overlord, etc. The main character of these experiences is always suppressing and torturing their peoples and domains.

They seem to lead to disasters of all different kinds. At first, I seem to be in "observe mode". So, I am taking it all in. A few times though I was thrown in right of the get go. So it was right in my face to start with. No time to acclimate at all. I still have some kind of semblance of control over the experiences, but not much.

when I was a child I thought I dont belong to this Earth and I wanted the mothership to come and take me LOL,
I did the same thing. I have to admit though, I still do today!  :-D

There are many sayings on "Home is where the ......". The one I really like is "A man travels the world over in search of what he needs, and returns home to find it." That's the one that has shown the most truth in my experiences.

I'm doing most of my work on this discord server. its better you go there then me trying to explain it on the forum.

discord is a free and very safe software almost everyone uses now these day so don't be discouraged in downloading it. https://discord.com/download

https://discord.gg/ZQ5TtjQ

who knows it might be best if no one sees what i'm working on, as people can easily misinterpret my research. I'm a bit of a mad scientist so not all of it makes sense to most people. If anything, I would ask people just humour my research and take everything with a grain of salt. what I have posted are truths and lies but that's not for me to decide.

I'm sorry Funfire, this says absolutely nothing. At least nothing I can understand. There is no need to join some Discord or any other Forum to get answers to questions we ask here on this Forum.  If you can't for some reason answer the question in your own words because of whatever it is you fear, then you aren't really being helpful. I do respect your wish to stay "mum" on this though. I too have to sometimes "filter" what I divulge on Forums. We all have to sometimes. Sometimes we need to keep what we see as "personal", just that, personal.

Hmmm interesting, sorry don't mean to intrude but I have an odd feeling this has to do with what I've been researching and working on. I don't like elaborating too much on what it is I do because honestly it's hard to describe. The information I have is sorta forbidden in that it's very hard to express, but what you all are experiencing there is truth within those dreams. I also need to be very careful with what I say.

I'll look into this more tommorow. If you have questions ask away hopefully I can answer them.

We are all ears, so continue!  :? :| :-o

Wow Funfire, you really love your Anime. I have had a few cartoon related technicolor AP experiences in the past. But they are few and far between.

I see that Anime and these videos have a place close to your heart. Unfortunately, it's more of a personal thing and I don't think many others here would share your enthusiasm with them.

I save many links to videos and other important AP related and non related material. I created a new folder that I named "Astral related" in the Favorites section of my browser and put all those useful links there. That way I wouldn't be cluttering up the Astral Pulse Forums with things that interested me, but likely wouldn't interest others.

I know that Xanth and the Moderators here strive to keep this Forum on a more of a serious level of practice and they do a good job with that. This is just my opinion, I thought that creating a personal folder on your computer might be easier for you to access all of these links. It is for me!  :-)

Is that you Daniel? When I read these posts, should I be using a disguised Arcturian voice too? I'm so confused!  :?

For the last 4 nights now I have had incredibly negative and disturbing Dreams. They aren't ET related though. I feel the collective consciousness is "percolating"! That doesn't bode well for us as a whole!  :-(

Pulse3, in a Dream, you are already experiencing a non local/non physical state of consciousness. You should explore the place you find yourself in. There is a reason you are there. Lessons and teachings can be found in those scenarios/simulations.

It looks like you are learning how to ground yourself to the scene at hand. That's great. That will take you far in this practice. Grounding = lengthening/prolonging, being able to hold a strong NP focus.

An ordinary Dream only differs from a Lucid Dream, by the level of conscious awareness you have in/during it.

Do you think Binaural Beats and guided meditation are helpful? Or do you think they just keep you from fully "checking out" if that makes sense!

Thank you so much for getting back to me - you really are so kind and I appreciate the help you are offering me. Thank you
First off, Thank You for your kind words!  :-)

They are both helpful, but not necessary. I love Bin Beats and Isochronic tones. That's likely because I find the delta and theta states so relaxing. Being consciously aware while in those states leads to some fantastic adventures and "tutoring". I enjoy guided meditations as well. I will listen to one just to see where it leads me to. They seem to work like "walkthroughs".

I find the Bin beats and basically anything by Paul Collier to very good. For Isochronic tones I enjoy DJ Vishnu's meditation series. Both of these Artist's works can be found on YouTube! Enjoy!  :-)

A Author of OBEs named Jurgen Ziewe also has one of the best Bin beats I have ever used. It is called Om-Meditation and can be found for free at his website here:
https://www.multidimensionalman.com/Multidimensional-Man/Free_Deep_Meditation_Sounds_-_Binaural_Beats.html

He is a interesting fellow. What I read of his earlier work it took him an hour and a half of deep relaxation/meditation before he had his consciously aware shift, aka OBE. I'm sure it's much faster today!

That is nearly exactly what happens to me!

Can you explain this a bit more? I've been getting that surge many times in one session. Is that a prompt that I should be doing something?

Today I experienced a shift like you describe, but instead of it being visual focused, it was if I disappeared altogether. "I" as I know myself wasn't there. There was only observation of the audio I was listening to. A sort of emptiness, but a very comfortable one.
It is very difficult to describe. But you did a great job of describing it in the last part of your current quote above.

It comes on like a urge to move my eyes. I have trained myself not to move or even use my physical eyes while noticing. The urge/prompt will then become really powerful, along with a sensation that my head is going blow up, hence my saying overload. Then, everything goes quiet and I am just "there". There is no urge to use my eyes period. I can't feel anything except for a "vastness". At this point I sometimes will test it by shooting a basket/tossing a basketball or rolling a ball, just to see how it plays out. Lately though I have been experiencing a lot of cave exploring, which then leads to a hall full of doors. Every door entered opens up a new adventure.

In the last week I have found that once I hit this vastness, I then feel like I am warping at high speed in reverse. The visuals of leaving my home, the Earth and everything appears during that experience. It's like a trip through the Universe, yet I am being pulled to into it. Sorry, this is yet another thing hard to explain because it defies our Human understanding of it.

If you give into the prompt and do readjust your eyes, you aren't ready for the shift and either need to relax more into it or deepen your focus into the darkness in front of you. Don't strain your vision. Just "passively observe" it and "notice", without question, anticipation, expectation or excitement. Again easier to say than it is to do. But that's why we continue to practice, until the day it comes naturally to you.

What am I doing wrong?

I am very very new on this journey so maybe I just need to continue to practice. But if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated :)
You aren't doing anything wrong. There is a learning curve here. Those blotches of color will soon change to imagery, if you "allow" them the freedom to.

QuoteAlso - like many I am currently on lockdown so I have nothing but time and have been trying to meditate and AP or lucid dream multiple times of day. Is this too much? Can I be trying too much and is this blocking me from success?

As always thanks for any help you can offer me :)
It still seems to me like you are trying to force things to happen. I said recently in another post that your physical self will fight tooth and nail to keep you physically focused. When a block or obstacle is successful, it will happen again and again until you finally overcome it. You need to find your "niche"!

Every time you make a attempt, something new will occur. Maybe you think it is menial and overlook it. But for now, take what you get and build from there.

Try this, go to your kitchen, open your fridge and pull out a apple/orange, something with a simple shape. Be aware of every step of the way, the way it felt to pull the fridge open, every part of the act. Now put the fruit back in the fridge, go sit down comfortably, close your eyes and recreate what you just did. When it fades away, bring it back. Keep replaying that mental act repeatedly over and over again. When it begins to morph into something new, "allow" it to and passively observe it. Leave your analytical mind behind. No questions. This is all about observation right now. No sneak peeks to see what your physical body is doing. Just stay focused on your on your kitchen trip.

If you don't want to use the kitchen scenario. Just sit in your chair with open eyes and be aware of the room you are in. How far are the walls and windows from you? What's over your fireplace, if you have one? Where are you in relationship to your coffee tables, end tables, etc. Now close your eyes and recreate it. When it fades away, bring it back. Keep doing that repeatedly over and over again for as long it takes. Ignore your physical body. Any vibrations you feel, any sounds you hear are not physical. You are sensing this with your "etheric" self.

Both of those are simple exercises and while you may think they are boring, they will help you with your memory skills.

When I was new and still once in awhile today, I would/will close my eyes and etherically reach out to a tree in my backyard that I can see through my window beside my computer station here. It's about 200 feet away from the window. I would focus on touching it, being near it, etc. Once I could see it, I would slowly open my peripheral vision to what is around it.

One in awhile I use that same practice while focusing on a current of water, like a river. At first I just look at the water and watch as it flows. Once I am comfortable with that, I slowly widen my vision. Now I could see the shore or maybe a nearby tree. I then widen it a bit more and now I can see a house or mountain in the background. I all I intended to see what the flowing water. These other things appeared themselves. I just allowed the scene to morph into what it wanted to and observed it when it did. Once it was a full blown scene, I didn't need to do anything, it was now my new reality. You turn the physical reality off, a new one turns on.

    • My brain has been performing a noticeable "shift" while I am doing the runtime. Like, for a few moments, it feels like everything is different, including my conscious thoughts and my "view" kind of alters. When this occurs, my mind usually tries to analyze it or make it happen more. Naturally, it starts to fade when this happens. I want to learn to relax into these sensations more so that I can continue to explore them.

Overall, it was a decent session considering I had some physical bodily distractions occurring.
I get that as well. Sometimes my shift in consciousness occurs shortly after I close my eyes and begin to just notice the darkness there. I will then get a "prompt" to readjust my vision. If I do readjust my vision it shows I wasn't ready for the shift to occur. If I don't refocus my vision, I get a strong surge of energy in my head that makes it feel like it is going into "overload". It is short lived but very powerful. After that, the depth of the darkness has changed considerably and I now in the Void. From there it's time to utilize thought = action and set a intent. I can tell that at that point I am not seeing with my physical eyes anymore. What I am experiencing seems so much more "expansive". It's really hard to explain it.

Those distractions can be troublesome if you "allow" them to be. I have itched myself, readjusted my whole body in the tub, sneezed, all kinds of things. But then I just stay the course I am on.

When I was new to this though, it was a whole different ball game, lol. I had problems with my eyes opening, excess saliva, the need to constantly swallow, breathing problems like hyperventilating, all kinds of things. They were self imposed blocks and obstacles to keep me physically focused. I had to learn to overcome them. That came by staying the course and going into a deeper state of relaxation. Your physical self will fight tooth and nail to keep you physically focused. That's why this practice is such a difficult thing for most people. They don't get past that.

This afternoon I did my daily Phase soak session. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is basically a deep form of meditation I do while lying in my bathtub. My affiliation for this came years ago while I was taking a shower. I got soap in my eyes while shampooing, closed them because of the sting and saw that I was teetering on the edge of raging waterfall. These visuals were as vivid as this world here is and occurred completely spontaneously. It caught me off guard so badly that I immediately experienced vertigo and started falling, just to have my shower curtains keep me up.  I emailed Tom Campbell shortly after this about this and he told me I was entering a different stage in my AP evolution. That showed me that the shift is really that easy to attain. We just need to get out of the way and allow it to happen.

This closing my eyes in the shower and seeing vivid imagery occurred a few more times. I found that for some reason water seemed to be my connection to the AP. So, I transitioned from the shower to taking baths, so I could spend a good amount of time soaking in the water. A valued member here named Baro-san sent me this link to a article on the Archimedes that showed that he too came to this conclusion. I wanted to copy and paste his quote on why the water worded. But the site won't allow me to copy and paste it, likely because of Copyright. So, you need to read the article yourself.

We have many science minded, methodical, logical thinkers come here to the Astral Pulse. They analyze everything that happens to them. They expect to find objective answers to Astral Projection. Yet they fail. Why? Because they are looking for physical logic in a place that seems to defy all of our physical logic.

Myself, I didn't come into it to analyze it, I came into this to experience it further. When I was new, I would have a brief success and as fast as the imagery came it was gone. I flitted around all over the place because I kept trying to control everything. I then had a NP mentor that told me to just "passively observe" everything that happened and everything I saw. I then was put through a series of tests to see if I could do just that. You can read about these experiences under my previous name here "Lionheart".

I mention the candle staring quite a bit because it was the first full conscious OBE, by purpose, that I ever had. All I did was stared at a lit candle flame in the dark for about 15 minutes, blew out the candle and closed my eyes to lie back in my chair. It all happened so fast that I didn't get a chance to question anything. I saw the imprint in my closed eye vision screen and when it faded, I brought the "memory" of it back. I put the word memory in quotes because you will soon see the difference between creating a visual by will and remembering one. So, the next thing that happened is I went from weak to strong vibrations in about 5 seconds, The vibrations were accompanied by what I can only describe as a Helicopter nearing. Soon that Helicopter sounded like it was landing on my roof. Then everything stopped. A eerie stillness was the only thing left. Then I saw that I could see my immediate surroundings. I didn't intend to climb out of anything, I thought of my hallway next and I was just there. That's the way it works in the NP. Thought = action immediately. This is why so many people experience their fear test scenarios up close and personal, as vivid as vivid can be.

After that experience I read up more on OBEs and for some reason got stuck in the mind frame that I needed to climb out my body to achieve it. So every time I attempted to have a OBE, I would be sitting there trying to climb a rope, roll out, all kinds  of things. None of them worked for me though.

So, I went back to the drawing board, that being the candle flame. I didn't need a candle anymore though. I would just visualize a flame. Then the movie Inception came out and I saw how Leonardo used a spinning top. It meant sense to me. A spinning top got me focused on more of a motion based target.

Next came experimenting with sports activities. While doing that I found that shooting hoops, as in Basketball seemed to work really well as a NP focus for me. I didn't try to visualize anything, I just remembered what it felt like when I used to do it in my younger years. It wasn't until recently that I noticed the difference between remembering and visualizing. When you visualize, you are normally using your eyes. When you remember, it comes from a different part of your brain. With the recent research in Neurology, they are finding that to be true. Notice how when you remember something you feel a inclination to look upwards.

So, this is one thing you can focus on while noticing. Pick a motion based sport activity, like shooting hoops, ping pong, jumping on a trampoline, etc. Don't look for the ball, in the case of shooting hoops, it's already in your hands. Just let it fly. You don't need to see anything for now. Just feel the motion of doing it. Don't worry, the visuals will appear. Your mind will create the necessary mental affiliations due to your memory of the act. For the trampoline, remember what it felt like when you last did it. Feel the motion, Once again, it doesn't matter if you are seeing anything. That will soon change. Allow it to!

After working with motion based sports activities, I moved onto simulations. That started spontaneously as well. When I saw how valuable it was, I stayed with it and utilized it for what I could. My simulation was driving my car. It began spontaneously because I had just returned home from a 8 hour road trip and I was unwinding. I closed my eyes, just to see that I was still moving. The visuals of my driving down a road soon accompanied my feeling of motion. Once again, the visuals came from the memory of the driving I just did. The road and destination/area both morphed and I allowed it total freedom to do so while I just passively observed it all. In a driving simulation, you can be experiencing it from behind the wheel, over the car or even a kind of "pace car" scenario. for some reason the "pace car", having a lead vehicle seems to many times be the way I experience motion based simulations. That can also be while flying, on the water or anything else I do. There always seems to be a leader and I am the passive follower that is just observing the whole thing. Once in a while I do transition from the pace car to being in 1st person mode.

After this, I used and still do use driving simulations, memories of rollercoaster rides and all kinds of motion based simulations to bide the time until the "natural" shift in consciousness occurred. I knew I had shifted when the scene I was witnessing began to take on a life of it's own. In the case of spinning top, it began to morph into different shapes. In the case of shooting hoops, a net appeared, then a person passing the ball back to me. In the case of driving, I would begin going down my own driveway and turn onto roads that I knew, but soon those roads and the areas I saw would be different. I never questioned any of this, at the time that is. I "allowed" it to occur and passively observed it when it did. When it got to a full blown scenario, I didn't have to intend to join it, I was already in it. All I had to do was react.

A lot of the things I have done in this practice were the results of common sense. I have also lived under the adage of the term "KISS". That stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. I approach Astral Projection the same way.

I hope something I shared here will help you and others newer people here. Today's Phase soak session was completely about just this. It was more of what is known as a "mental projection". That's what you had experienced astral_citizen in your most recent Journal log above. That's when you don't really enter into another destination, You normally just stay in the dark and get lost in your thoughts. In your case talking to your "Higher Self". But you notice when it is over, the darkness before your eyes has much more depth to it. Roll that ball in your hand into it and watch as it disappears into the darkness before you. If you wish, you could also intend to follow it and see what experience it leads to. After all, you are now in thought =action. Just make sure you have a level of control over those thoughts. Otherwise, they can lead to some fearful things.

Yep, I saw that! I guess if the ETs want to contact, no government can stop them to land and get out of their ships. So, there is definitley more to why they havent done that. The possibilities are endless. We just have to wait and see what happens, if anything happens in our lifetime at all.
So true. Disclosure has been occurring for years now for those that are willing to be "aware" and "listen"!  Those people don't need the Gov't to come out and say what they already know and at that level, it can't be blocked!

Yesterday, Donald Trump spoke to CNN very briefly about this supposedly new UFO revelation. He states his personal opinion here. It's not much different from what he said a few years ago in a interview with FOX News host Tucker Carlson that I posted a link to here in this thread just yesterday.

Is there a difference between the experiences of phasing and OBE projections? I thought that these were two separate approaches to achieve the same thing.
I will speak more on this a bit later and share with you two a couple of very easy focus targets to use while you are noticing. There is no need to get rid of your "monkey mind"/mental chatter. You just need to refocus it to your advantage.

This link will take you to a sticky that is found in the FAQ subforum. It is all about the Art of Phasing and what it is.
    http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_the_astral_faq/what_is_phasing_and_how_can_i_do_it-t17413.0.html

I found these two paragraphs here important in understanding the difference between Phasing and OBEs, especially the part I have in bold letters here.
"At some point in his experience, Monroe was able to determine the profound truth, that there is no separation within consciousness. Whereas in his early work it felt to him he was "leaving" and "separating" from his physical body in the more traditional sense. His later experiences led him to conclude that he was not "leaving" his body at all. But what he was doing, in his words, was changing the phase relationship between himself and his surroundings. It was from this discovery that the term "Phasing" came into being."

"The key to Phasing is to just let the experience flow. You need to allow yourself to become it, as opposed to trying to go to it, or point to it, with some kind of "method". Just lay back and simply become it. At which point people usually say, "Yeah, but Frank it's okay for you but when I close my eyes all I see is blackness. "Well, that is all I see at first!" "

Tom Campbell talked in his videos about how people become consciously aware in their sleep and then try to climb out of their bodies. He basically said that they are trying to climb out of something that they were never really in to begin with. It's hard, nearly impossible for someone to blindly believe something like that. Because of that, you need to come to that conclusion on your own. Hence the change in mindset that follows.

You are correct, they are both separate approaches to achieve the same thing. One is more physically oriented then the other though. With Phasing, you join the scenario you are experiencing with no bells or whistles attached to it. Most beginners take the approach of climbing out of the physical body. Why, because that is usually the first step to them. That is what most of the videos on youtube and other places teach about. Most beginners have come to this Forum because they have experienced their own spontaneous event. That event normally occurred via SP or a LD. Their curiosity or the fear created by that event has then sent them on a mission to learn more about what happened to them. The same thing  happened with me. I had been having spontaneous events since I was a child. I didn't understand them though. It wasn't until back in 2011 after a 3 night experience that I finally searched out the reasons for it. That led me to finding the Astral Pulse Forum. I read the stickies, talked to the experienced members, listened to youtube videos and all kinds of thing. It was all simple to begin with. Then information overload kicked in and I found myself blocked. So, I returned back to what worked to start with. That being a simple candle staring technique. From there I began experimenting with my own techniques, but still kept reading other things. I was open minded to all views. But I came to my own conclusions based on what I personally experienced. I always say "I believe half of what I hear, but everything I see"!

I haven't replied here yet because I didn't have the best of experiences following this. This was no fault of yours Lightbeam.

I finished a great Phase session at about 6;45. Because  of that, I was still in a good brainwave state of Delta. I then gave MJ another heads up that your session was starting in 15 minutes. After that I went to my bedroom and laid down. Like I said, I was still in a deeper brainwave state.

I experienced a bright blue light and it felt like I was bathing in it. It was very peaceful and tranquil. After the session, I felt great. I asked MJ what she experienced, she said "nothing". That didn't necessarily surprise me though. She doesn't really respond to anything that I send her either.

So where the experience went south occurred later that night. MJ made a sponge cake about 2 weeks before your session night. I was basically the only one that was eating it, due to MJ's condition. The topping was in the fridge and it was a bowl of strawberries with the juice of the strawberries. MJ kept prompting me to eat it before it went bad. Well, that night, it was bad. That led to horrible stomach pains that kept me from sleeping. The next day I was in pain due to my lack of sleep from the night before. My spine was hurting bad. So, yes, it was a experience indeed. Unfortunately, a negative one!  :-(

BINGO!  :-)  You hit the nail right on the head!

You are rewarded every single attempt you make. Something new always happens. No matter how minute that something may seem. Keep a good detailed Journal and you will see what I mean. Those little things add up quickly. They are all necessary to move on down this path.

Unfortunately, the Pentagon acknowledging what was already released years ago means basically nothing. Now if they released some new material, that would be something.

Last night on Fade to Black radio, Jimmy Church the host started his conversation based on this supposedly new info. I agree with his take on it. Look at the wording the Pentagon used in their release. It basically says that there is nothing of interest there.

Here is link to last night Radio show. You only need to listen starting about the 12:00 minute mark of it to hear his take on this whole issue. He did briefly talk about it with his guest Gary Lachman as well.

I like how you new guys here have been charting your experiences. In today's world, many things can be achieved with a simple push of a button.  Astral Projection is not one of those things. This is solely because all your life you have lived as purely a physical existence. Astral Projection doesn't fit that mold. You have to basically unlearn what you have learned all of your life. That means it takes a completely different mindset to succeed here. Yes, the non physical realms are only a shift in focus away. But that is much easier said than done.

Xanth, the Administrator of this very Astral Pulse Forum had his first successful "conscious" OBE after 10 years of trying. That in my books took a hell of a lot of patience and fortitude. I commend him for that.

The reason I bring that up is I sense a great deal of urgency from some of the newer members here to achieve their first OBE. I can also see that some of you guys are mixing Phasing techniques with those used in a actual climbing out of the body OBE. That in itself with cause many failures. Frank's technique is based on Phasing. There is no climbing out of the body necessary for that one. A OBE technique does usually require some kind of act of exit, as in climbing a rope, rolling out of the body, etc. I have had actual OBEs, in every sense of the word during my Phase soak sessions, But they are very rare.

Welcome to the Astral pulse and I also send my condolences on your recent loss!

As EV and Nameless have stated here, when the time is right, you will receive the "closure" that you seek.

Grieve now, heal later. Part of the healing process entails that you will see each other again. It could be in Dreams/projections, even visions. Talk to him, he is always there. Listen to the answers with your Heart! After you have finished the grieving process, write a letter to him. Tell him how you feel? You can ask him things in it. Then learn to become aware in your Dreams and you will see those questions answered.

We had a loss in the Family about 3 years ago due to Suicide. It's easy to get caught up in the "would of, should of didn't, what if" guilt mode. If you do, make sure that you add a "what if I didn't meet him to begin with? The answer, "then you wouldn't have had the memories of the happiness and the love that he shared with you.

At times like this songs seem to help in the grieving and even the healing process. Their Lyrics talk volumes.

There is a band name Disturbed, that made their claim to fame with heavy metal. Then all of a sudden they themselves changed. This was shown through the rendition they did of the "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. Listening to the radio last night, I heard a new song that was recently released. After hearing it a few more times, I went to the internet to read the lyrics. Here is that song. I think it will help anyone that has just suffered the loss of a loved one. David Draimen, the lead vocalist must have lost someone dear in his life in the last few years as well. All of his new music seems to point that way.

Here is a link to the song plus the accompanying lyrics. I hope it helps!

Thanks! I must admit the first attempts a couple of weeks ago felt rushed and I was looking at YT videos and reading many different techniques, but ultimately it was info overload and needed to pick 1 or 2 and stick with it. I used to do intense visualization on old school chi/ki techniques that, in hindsight, were likely third eye stimulation techniques that I wasn't aware of but ultimately forgot about until a week ago. Then I found this forum via the Frank K web page and spent some time lurking and practicing techniques that made sense. Strategy -> Test -> Learn From XP -> Repeat is my mantra so I would continue to dive in and read the posts that made the most sense to me.
I have watched quite a few videos on YouTube and came to the conclusion that many of the people there are spreading some bad advise. Case in point. When I was new to consciously initiating a OBE, I came across a short video on "Candle Staring". I did what the guy said, which was basically to get comfortable in a chair and just notice the flame in front of my open eyes for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes of this candle staring, I was to blow the candle out, close my eyes and just notice the "imprint" of the flame that was there. I did that simple exercise and it led to me experiencing rather violent vibrations and a sound so loud I could swear a Helicopter was landing on my roof. Next I was out and viewing what I thought was my immediate surroundings, through my closed eyes. I was hooked. I came to this Forum here and shared that tech and the link to the video. But now, the video had changed. It now consisted of two videos, part one and two, talking about Chakras and energy work that were supposed necessary to prepare yourself for the OBE. The Author had added all kinds of unnecessary garbage to a very simple technique. There are many videos there that also talk about the negative side of OBEs. These are simply because the Author/creator of the video, didn't handle the "fear tests" for themselves. They had a few experiences, knew how to make a video and decided to call themselves experts at this. Then they began to add their "beliefs" and perceptions into the equation and that really messes up everything.

Then there are people on youtube like Albert Taylor, William Buhlman, DR. Stanislov Grof and others that show passion and enthusiasm for what they are teaching and it shows. I remember in a Radio interview that Albert Taylor had with Art Bell years ago. Art tried to steer Albert to talk about the negative aspects of Aping. Albert wouldn't go there. He just laughed it off. So yes, you have to take what you hear with a open mind. But you need to weed through the chaff, if you get my drift here!

Strategy/Test/Learn can also be practice, patience and perseverance.

Quoteit's simply a matter of wanting something bad enough and having passion worth pursuing.
Those words will take you far in life in general. I'm sure living your life that way has already proven that to you!  :-)

QuoteI may have a theory regarding ADHD and the attraction to AP, sometimes hyperfocus happens automatically on things that we can't control. For me it was related to sleep (that could be an indicator?).
I have a theory about ADHD in general and that's that it doesn't exist. In my day we just said the child was hyper. A thinker. Today's world wants to label everything!

QuoteYeah, I'm learning that more and more each time I do an attempt. 'Wanting it bad enough' was the logic I took when I started. Though with third eye stimulation and consistent practice on downtime has significantly upped my overall focus levels and awareness as if I were 16 years old again. I hear you on the 'lose focus' on the non-physical part, it's a lot harder than it appears to be. Strangely (err...I guess not with the ADHD) I can make that happen when I'm wide awake or doing an activity. The earlier techniques I tried were from YU and they suggested chewing gum and holding phones before sleeping and imagine feeling it until it's real but that didn't have success. I will admit, the uber slight movement of the fingers do help me not feel anything over time (kinda of like training wheels )
Just remember focus is focus. I created my technique "the Doorway" for people that had a problem shutting down their "Monkey Minds". It gives them something proactive to do while the "natural" shift occurs. So does the thread on the "Phantom Wiggle"

What works for me is a focus on movement, aka "mental motion". I have become proficient with the act of creating a strong focus based on movement, as in six directions, forwards, backwards, left, right, up and down. Many times this leads to the feeling of moving down a dark cave or hallway. I can adjust the speed of that movement at will. But lately now, I find it leads to a cannonball/ejector scenario, whereas I find myself jettisoned backwards at high speed, as I see the Earth disappearing from my view. Next I am just "there, wherever "there" happens to be at the time. This has become really strong especially in the past months now. That cave/hallway focus can also lead to opening "Doorways". In the beginning the focus of that thread was simple, like color, geometric shapes. etc. Then I began to fine tune it. So, by reading it, you will get to see the "evolution" of the thread and the teachings I received in it.

QuoteIs there a particular list or link of affirmations available? I've noticed that when I tell myself that 'I am dreaming and I document my dreams' and 'i WILL learn how to AP I am capable of anything I imagine" and that helps, but more would be awesome.
I don't know of a actual list. I just made my own based on common sense, what I felt I needed to say or would work for me.

QuoteI've noticed this too on other forums or groups, it seems like most people either post about their journal and proceeds to stop after a couple of entries, or they just have a one-off post and vanish. If I'm able to overcome these hurdles, it will be an absolute game-changer. I feel like I am so close, I can see it in front of me.

All of this has been super helpful. Much appreciated!

Yes, this is why myself and others here get "gun shy" once in awhile. I can't tell you how many times I have aided someone here in the public Forums and especially the PMs, just to have all that time and effort all for not. So yes, it's not "once done twice shy". It's more like many times done and I am still here!  :-D

Your welcome and don't be shy to ask for any help. EscapeVelocity, EV for short, created a thread here called the "The Astral Pulse Hotline", just so he and others here could help more on a direct basis. Nobody uses it though!  :?

Welcome to the Astral Pulse!  :-)

I am thoroughly enjoying your adventure. I have been quiet, until now and I am sure others here on this Forum have been as well because you seem to be doing good enough on your own. You are reading the material here in the stickies and other threads and you are not only applying what you have read, but are also working your way on finding what works for you personally.

I have to say, I had my doubts, especially when you mentioned the fact that you were ADHD. We have seen many people come and unfortunately go just as fast because they couldn't handle their affliction. You have found a way to make it work though. It's strange how so many people that have ADHD of some other anxiety issues, seem to be so attracted to Aping.

Now to some advice. First off, you can't "force" AP to happen. You can set the stage and be aware of the shift as it naturally occurs though. Second would be to lose all that focus on your what you physical self is doing. In other words, you are too "physically focused" and you will find that detrimental and a hinderance to any further progress. I do that by starting each session with the mental affirmation "By my act of will, I release my focus over my physical body". From that point on, I am simply a point of consciousness.

You spoke about commitment to this practice. That is key, depending on how far you wish to go with this. Many people become satisfied with just a "sneak peek" of what could be. Others will go as far as the teaching is willing to offer. As with anything life, your passion and drive will take you as far as you will "allow" it to. I use that word "allow" quite a bit. That seems to be the key to this practice, you have to give it the freedom to take you in which ever direction it wishes. Every night before I go to sleep I use the affirmation "Please take me to your desired destination. SHOW ME what I NEED TO SEE. PLEASE TEACH ME what I NEED TO LEARN". I mentally visualize those capitalized words letter by letter while I mental affirm them.

These are all just some helpful tips and like I said above, you are doing fantastic. Keep doing what you are doing. I will keep updated on your process here. I won't interfere again unless I find something that I feel needs to be said to help you on your journeys.
