Somewhere the other day I was reading where it's not recommended that you just call out for help from any old source when trying to project. Bcuz you can invite not so good entities.  This reading said if you want to call for help address it to God or Jesus etc.  It went on to say there are plenty of helpers in the astral who are aware of you doing what yr doing and will come to help without you asking.

About 50 years ago I discovered astral projection from Muldoon and Carrington's book as well as Lobsang Rampa's books.  So shortly back then lying in bed sleeping I became a bit lucid and envisioned me in a basement room looking out a ground level window. Looking at two old style lanterns swinging back and forth and coming my way. Next I felt hands under my arms lifting me up.  I assume it was a couple helpers trying to get me out of body.  I freaked of course and they let go. I regretted this so much until I realized everybody has to go thru the fear thing.

I've had a few close obe's but have never succeeded in a real projection. Now thx to the internet and all the written stuff I'm back to trying.  The other night I heard a knocking I at first thought was someone at the door-at 5am.  Quickly I realized it must be my own mind reminding me to try to exteriorize. A couple days later the same thing happened.

My point-if there are these helpers out there who know you are trying to get out why don't they come to me with more help?    I'm especially grateful to those who make statements that there is nothing to fear, or everybody should learn to project etc.   After giving up for decades it gives me confidence.

There is or was someone here going by the name Frank.  Over 3000 posts. Is he still around?

So how are you doing now with ap?   It's 10 years later. I will try what you prescribe.  I've known about projection since about 1964 but the fear...!   Thx to the web there's lots of reassurances so I've been working that angle. I guess the fear comes from the small conditioned human mind.  I like to think of it as the ox cart. LOL  What I read now is the fun people have, the resistance to coming back to body bc of the loss of freedom, and so if all this is the case and these people operate just fine oob then I'm going for it in a much more confident fearless attitude.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / getting stuck
October 14, 2020, 15:13:21
A poster Frank commented on getting stuck in the area just above the lucid dreaming area.  He said the novice when in that area might think they are in the astral proper but it is not the astral proper. It's a place where anything you think will be created but you think it's the real astral.  He then adds the way to get out is to realize everything you see is self created from your subconscious upon which it all dissolves. Has anybody had an experience like this and can they add insights tips etc.?

Welcome to Dreams! / it ain't easy

I've had many slightly lucid dreams lately where things don't seem right  such as 'people just don't go around forgetting where they parked their cars so often' so  I must be dreaming.  but then I think 'it's obviously not a dream because it's real, my friends are here etc.'-so then I continue looking for my car.  Then I wake up to find it was a dream.  Obe coaches tell you that when you become lucid  to do various things to convert into an OBE.  I think they are missing something.  How can you believe it's a dream when it's just as real as waking life?  Maybe that's the key-to understand that we once believed dreams were this smoky whispy unreal thing of the imagination but that actually when dreaming your consciousness is in a very real dimension-not much different than waking life.  Then if you can get a grip on that you actually could use one of the techniques such as demanding 'clarity now' or 'higher self now', or 'obe now'. You'd want to say 'I know it's real but it's still a dream because this isn't my usual waking reality. But anyway keep positive and be patient. :-D

Welcome to Dreams! / out of body operating room
November 03, 2017, 16:12:14
Once I had this dream where I was in an operating room on a gurney and where a guy in medical clothes was saying to me " do you want to be conscious for this or not conscious?  Most don't want to be conscious." I said "unconscious."  The next day my hemorrids were gone.  This lasted a long time but years later they have reoccurred.  I wish I'd have said conscious to see what happened.  It must have been some astral place.

A free book  amazon or a pdf dwnload.    Very good in explaining the thought responsive state when out of body.  This greatly enables you to get beyond fear-since what you think or feel or imagine when out of body will manifest-so if you know this you don't think fearful things.

9 - Describe the most amazing thing you did:
I haven't had much in the way of conscious projection yet but I'm working pretty hard on it knowing working hard will prevent it.  HA!  I just know it really helps to read all of what you people are saying especially in the way of getting fear out of the way.  This morning lying in bed I saw someone in my bed but soon realized it was me.  I don't know if this was out of body or just lucid dreaming.  I'm aware of how easy it is to encounter self generated people and things as opposed to those who are not, but 'real' in other ways.  Once I during sleep I did become aware of being in something like a museum where I was looking at the bow of this beautiful ship.  The rigging lines were pastel dots of light and the whole thing was bathed in a beautiful purple light.  It was very real so maybe I was in a focus 2 situation or out of body.  I've seen what I think were guides or helpers.  One was a woman in a long white gown holding a book.  She quickly hid behind a wall.  Another time some helpers came to me and were lifting me out until I got scared.  How I wish that had been successful and how my life might have become so much more and better!   The other day I felt the vibes come on but this time they were just delicious-like lying in the warm sun, much better though.  I let them go and felt myself rise to a vertical position but still attached at the head.  I tried but couldn't get free.

Just wondering what percentage of humans can project at least once in a while or who are working on doing it with some regularity.
In my opinion once you get into it and begin to realize the potential it becomes a necessity if you want to progress that is.  The rest of the world goes on in the dark wondering and wondering about things.

Just wondering what percentage of humans can project at least once in a while or who are working on doing it with some regularity.  Let's say age 12 and up.  I used to think very little/very few but now I'm not so sure.  Would one percent be too many?  In my whole life I've only met 2 or 3 who have talked about wanting to have an obe.

Welcome to Members Introductions! / Hola!

I may have been here before a long time ago.  I'm making a new effort at AP.  I first discovered it in about 1966 when a friend and I read a couple books "Projection of the Astral Body" and another.  Then I got into Lobsang Rampa and I know there is controversy about him.  I will say whoever he was he seemed to know a lot about the occult arts.  He mentioned the helpers.  I had a "dream" back then that I was in my basement (symbolic for subconscious) looking out the ground level window when I saw two persons coming waving a lantern. I felt them lifting me up under my arms but fear took over and they left.  I can't help but think how much better my life might be now if only I'd learned to project all those years ago.
I've had many near projections over the years.  Most recently I was napping on the bed one afternoon when the vibrations started.  Hadn't felt that in years and usually unpleasant but this time they were delicious! like lying in the warm sun on the beach only far better.  I figured 'this has to be good' so I just let it happen.  I felt my astral lift to vertical but still attached at the head.  I tried to break free but it all just subsided.  I'm hoping now to be successful and to improve my life in the sense of a more controlled, capable and peaceful existance and have greater experiences.  I'm also into the Tarot again.  It's based on synchronisity.  Contact me on any of this. :-D

Stay out of Area 51, it's heavily guarded. Even in the Astral!

Can you expand on this!  Wow!  Has a sort of energy field been setup by humans who can project?

Explore the universe I guess but also originally I thought I'd be able to sit in on the Rolling Stones at a recording or practice session.  LOL!   Actually I want to reach a state of peace, to resolve and smooth out my self, to enable abilities such as song writing and playing instruments.
