Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Why the Hostility?

If two people each have two different views on a topic they feel very strongly about, they will both think they are right, and won't believe the other person, so they will continuously argue forever. You can't blame them, if you believe entirely in something, you won't take in someone elses opinion. Just try to ignore it, don't get caught up in it, make your own decision, choice or belief.

I found this incredible blog written by soldiers (now veterans) of the Iraq war, who didn't want to fight. They signed up for the honour, but never got it. They fought just to survive. You can still read the blogs from when they were actually there, but the latest ones are of them reflecting on what happened, as they are now veterans. They're intelligent, so the blogs are good reads.

I wish I could say it didn't, but something like ADHD would affect your success, but only very minimally. I have minor ADD, and I am able to concentrate very well if I want to. If you work on concentrating, (you may have to work a bit harder than others) you can be just as good or better than most people.

Interesting read of course, but why blue on blue?  :|

EDIT:

well, the blue color text is text I've got from somewhere (articles, news, papers, etc.), and which I have not written myself.

Well I meant that it's hard to read. :) No big deal though.

A lot of people think where you go in the etheric is more of a mirror reflection of our physical universe, not exactly it.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me out here, I can easily picture blackness.  But when I tried this last night, my mind kept bringing MORE into it, such as a group of short people would suddenly come and take away the background of black, or I started to picture myself "floating" into and through the blackness, or the black became the shape of a cube, I was suspended in it, and it was held by a much larger being who who was along with my cube supended in a black cube which was in turn held by a larger being who was also in a cube with his cube in it etc.....stuff like that, I don't consciously think about these things, they just pop up as I get drowsy, any suggestions?

These aren't necessarily bad things. They seem to be hypnagogic (sp?) imagery that could be use to help you phase.

I only recently found out that they were more than something wrong with my eyes, but my whole life I've seen them fall from the sky to the earth, usually in pairs or threes, sometimes not. They are also sometimes close, sometimes far in the distance. When I saw a picture of an orb, it looked just like the ones I saw, so it was pretty cool. When I was really young, I thought they were 'souls' coming down to enter a new body. I never see them like other people do though, buzzing around and stuff. Mine are different.

I could, but the quality goes down.

I just downloaded this the other day, and it's really fun (and free)!
I used to make stick animations in paint, and put the frames into 'Animagic'.
That took forever, because I had to erase the background each time, and load all of the frames seperately.
This is much easier.

There's a newer one than the one I use, but it's in BETA so it's buggy.
Although with the update, it lets you add any image you want, and have multiple backgrounds.

Older: http://atlas.walagata.com/w/peterbone/Pivot.zip
Newer: http://s12.quicksharing.com/v/126518/Pivot_Animator.zip.html

My first finished animation:

If you upload your own, please just post the link to it so the page doesn't lag like mad.

I like political (or anti-political) music too. Rage Against the Machine, The Coup, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, and a multitude of punk rock like The Dead Kennedys - Jello Biafra has some great things to say. His spoken word CD's are full of political insight.

I don't always agree with everything they say, but am glad they have the ability to speak their mind.

I like this little quote from an incredible Good Riddance song, spoken by a happy woman at the end:

"Congratulations. You have been selected to recieve this exciting, empowering message from your government. Forget all your fearing with regards to the supposed economic slowdown. Those of you who are already fat with wealth will continue to profit at public expense. I mean really, if it isn't broken, why fix it, right? And don't worry yourselves about these nasty terrorists either. After all, we trained them! So we know how to beat them. Plus, we've got more weapons of mass destruction than any other country in the world. Regrettably, millions will die as before. But look at the bright side. The longer these wars last, the more money will be generated by the military industrial complex. Always remember citizens, that peace is bad for business. And lastly, pay no attention to the liberal hysteria surrounding the pending legislation of homeland security. Sure your privacy will be invaded, and your freedom subjegated. But trust us, it's for your own protection. Just don't ask questions. Stay in your homes, relax, watch your televions, and we'll take care of you like we always have. Our systems of control are so entertaining, you won't even know you're being indoctrinated. Remember, passivity is comfortable, and nobody likes a squeeky wheel. Thank you for your time, and god bless America."

I've often thought that is a weird concept...a scape goat really.  For instance...  Let's say all week I cheat on my taxes, my husband and I molest some little kid.  BUT WAIT!  I can repent at the end of the week and all of the negative stuff I did is fine...I'll be okay.

Yeah, right......

I know. If this was the case, if you lied the day you died, without repenting, you'd burn in hell for eternity. Then, a criminal on death row that same day who repented right before the zap would go to heaven.
No god would want that.

Also, why does it give you 2 points when I applaud you, TalaNay?

I'd like to bump this topic, because for me it's the most interesting one I've read on these forums. I agree with Patrick the most, but I also agree with what some others say. The stories of people's experiences could be just that. Stories. Patrick said the leaders of the groups who believe in collective consciousness are only interested in material wealth from their followers. The authors of these reincarnation books could be doing the same thing. I would need personal proof of anything before believing it, but I take all opinions into consideration.

This leads me to the belief that whatever you expect or maybe want (two distinct things) to happen will happen when your body dies. So, if someone believes they will reincarnate, they will. To them. If they believe in the birth marks and blood lines, that will happen for them. If they believe they'll group with other souls, maybe they will group with all of the souls who have believed that. If someone else believes they'll become non-existant, maybe they will. Or at least their awareness will become completely diminished, but their 'soul' will still exist. If someone believes they will go to 'heaven' or 'hell', they will. If someone believes they'll become a 'ghost', that will happen too. But I think all of these things will just be what their mind creates, they won't actually go to that location. Their 'soul' could be in an empty and vast storage place, and each person their will be in their own place in their mind. Everyone seperate, in my opinion. And I don't mean what the person thinks with their brain on earth, I mean what their 'higher self' believes, and is real to them.

I've had my heart beating very heavily, like it rocks my entire body, but not fast I don't think. I often wake up extremely comfortable, sort of numb, my limbs feel too heavy to move, but I don't want to try because it would disturb the incredible comfort. My heart is also usually beating very heavily, and I'm very aware of it. It shakes my body quite a lot.

Welcome to Magic! / Re: Which is Which?

I'm pretty sure most of the stuff they do here is rather minor. Meaning, they can't throw a ball across the room with their mind, but they can spin a psi wheel. (Piece of paper on a toothpick type thing). Anything above that would be one-time only, and probably whilst in deep meditation. If anyone tells you they can shoot fire from their hands, don't believe it until you see it. ;)
