I use a word that does not make a lot of sense in my language (or another). Aside from it being a positive word and it also sounds positive for speakers of other mother tongues I guess.

It was 'given' to me by means which I do not disclose here.

It's maybe a form of 'personal magick'.

As said above it is YOU who gives it meaning, so you must 'encode' it with your own 'magick' which is your intent, your will, your determination, your 'meaning'.

And then any 'code' which you give its own meaning and (therefore:) purpose might work.

your perception --> your interpretation --> your conclusion --> your (personal) truth/beliefs

the problem might be that we have a vicious logical circle going here when your perception is already influenced to some degree (or fully) by former or current interpretations/conclusions/personal-truths

I like it. As synchronicity wants it when reading this today, I had this very day a day of failure. Although it was not my fault really and I could not do anything to change it, but I failed or it failed me anyway.

It's good to realise that failure is always part of this existence and maybe it is even part of our life design.

I would not call it willingness (which would be before you try) but rather acceptance of failure also the knowing that it can happen that things do not work the way you want. As it is said by some: The universe does not provide you what you want, but what you need. Maybe success is not always what we need.

Many have had their 'dark night of the soul' when things fell apart in their life, leading to greater strength or insights in the end, and a way out of the dark night.

This can also work with smaller failures, like today, and I hope it works out for me too.

Thanks for posting this. A reassuring reminder.

As we all know: A map never is the landscape. There are many different ways to experience the non-physical. Labels are approximations, sometimes they are useful, because differences exist. Sometimes they are metaphors, sometimes we like them because they are sheer poetry to us (such as the 'old' planes-view), sometimes they are 'conventions' because we need some signposts and concepts to speak about with other people. This is all okay. We just need not keep in mind to not get too dependent on labels and maps.

I guess many won't click on your links because they indeed look fishy.

On topic: I agree with Robert. It's a kind of energy / force or whatever you label it as part of and in our dualistic (good/bad, hot/cold, ying-yang) dimension we are in.

Find a regression hypnosis therapist. Regression is not just for past lives but the past in your current life too.

The Cathars were responsible for starting the war called the Albigensian Crusade when they assassinated a Vatican Diplomat trying to negotiate with them in Languedoc (Please stop killing priests and burning our churches).
hmmm ...  one murder of an innocent priest justifies the ensuing mass murder of many innocent people who happen to belong a specific creed that was not mainstream at the time - a 'war' which some call genocide- at least so regarded by some historians ..

Btw. Just noticed when searching the title of his first book on Amazon that a few days ago he published a brandnew one:

I know people online (this and other forums) who succeeded or benefited a lot from it.

I read it and enjoyed it for the insights and theories.

However, the book that I had read before that one, which was Mr Buhlman's first work (Adventures Beyond The Body) was the one that made me succeed.

And this really BIG TIME.

I hear you. This is what is making me laugh to this very day too. All the fear related issues to SP and all that. People being told to avoid it and we - the crazy ones on here - are even seeking it. You can get strange looks. But you can use it to wake people up. I love it.  :-D

All 'sides' in this discussion have raised good and valid points.

There is a wide spectrum of what it means to "be christian", "be muslim", and even "be new age" or "be spiritual".

People are different, actually it is even down to an individual level. So for me it makes no sense when we make discussions based on a fixed set of assumption or even dogmatic statements saying "buddhists/muslims/christians believe/are this or that".

My parents are christians and what it all boils down to is that they go to church a few times in the year and put up a christmas tree on X-mas. That's all.

There are some very open churches or christian discussion groups, some more open(minded) some more dogmatic or orthodox. Let them be how they want to be as long as they don't proselityze too much or want to 'convert' or (if not possible) disrespect you.

Just an example, one of our former members here as a very experienced long-time projector was member of the Unity Church, which is still 'christian' to some degree since they also refer to the bible and Jesus.

http://www.unity.org/about-us/our-philosophy

They even did seminars with Tom Campbell (My Big Toe) who is a proponent of the digital universe theory. So I guess they are very 'open' to ideas of AP, new theories on the basis of reality and all that.

Of course they are just on the one end of the spectrum, still you could say they are christian.

A blissful all-knowing state as we know it by glimpses from so-called mystic experience.

We don't know for sure.

Maybe as a human we are also here in order to learn one thing. Maybe the most important thing we learn here:

Live gracefully with uncertainty.

In my view and a past experience, you need sleep (paralysis) for your physical body to do this when you want to see your body.

But there are instances of OBEs when the body was more awake iirc. E.g. Remote Viewer McMoneagle claimed to have gone OBE while awake during missions as a soldier in danger situations.

I've read about some marathon runners seeing themselves suddenly from outside while still running (but it is also a state of trance).

From this I would conclude that when this happens while not in sleep paralysis (voluntarily or not ) you are not in a 'normal' awake state but in a kind of different focussed or even trance-like 'awake' state.

It is comments like these that just truly mystify me. They are completely untrue.

There is another religion where it is the death penalty for "this kind of stuff" and it isn't just an old antiquated tradition. They routinely hang people in the public square for this. Usually every weekend.

There is another religion in India where a family was murdered ... for the crime of eating beef.
Neither of these are Christian.

In reality, some of the major Christian sects are highly tolerant of much of "this kind of stuff". Look at Padre Pio (they made him a Saint) and others too numerous to list.

I wonder if anti-religionists will ever get over this bigotry.

I think the topic of closed-mindedness rather was meant to be what they believe AP to be or to mean in their frame of reference. Not if they are tolerant or not and how they react to other beliefs or experiences.

The for me answer to all religious OBE/AP/Phasing or even NDE experience is simple:

BST = Belief System Territory

Read Robert Monroe.

Some people now think the Zombie Apokalypse has begun with those mindless people walking through nature only looking at their smartphones chasing their unreal electronic monsters because they only perceive this as 'real' in "their" virtual reality life, and nothing else matters anymore.

Quote from: Aaron330 on July 22, 2016, 04:33:57...the pill WILL NOT work for you if you don't already know how to AP or LD. You must put in the work first to reap any reward from the pill. .... If you're hoping to have your first projection by taking this pill, sorry but you will be sorely disappointed. You must possess all of the skills and experience it takes to know how to navigate yourself out of body, otherwise you're just going to lay there in sleep paralysis completely freaked out all night.
These are some great points you are making. Indeed, this is true. You can use it as a kind of crutch or a launch pad to get the ball rolling by getting into "the state" (SP, phase, vibrations,...) easily, but you must go further on your own, techniques, practices, strategies, actions, whatever you have learnt beforehand in your experiences (or try out once in a while what you read about from other APers or books ... and practice, practice, practice).

I think this can lead to confusion because the Ancient Ones teach that there really is a place/plane/region that is called the Astral Plane. But many people can project with a relatively high degree of control and yet never get close to that particular region.

Given that about 95% of OBE travelers never get to the astral plane (not to mention the realms above that) it is purely academic but I think it would be nice if the distinction could be made and agreed upon.

Also, of the few who do accidentally stumble into that realm, most are unable to make it back for repeat visits, so they begin to downgrade the early experience and glom it in with the rest.

From what  I remember from all kinds of systems, cosmologies, 'architectures' etc. of the nonphysical isn't that rather what is normally called the "mental" plane you are referring to? Just wondering.

I agree with Xanth.    There are pills that are not proven to work.    There are pills that say they can work but do not say they do work.    It is not scientifically proven.   Sounds like a waste of money to me.   Sorry you may get offended by that.
Many people around the world use them. I use(d) them, but not anymore. From my (past) experience with them and others I can say with quite some certainty that they work beyond placebo. If you did a scientific lab trial and chose two groups, then put the same number of aspiring APers to go to sleep in each group, one with a fake placebo pill, one with galantamine. You would definitely and most certainly get a far higher success rate with the verum group (the one taking galantamine). I'd bet a whole lot of money on it.  :-)

Are we being tested by some higher power in some of our dreams, or is it all fantasy?
For me, everything is a projection. This includes dreams. We do not understand them very often because they reveal a higher mind / subconscious realm that we project into. And yes there can be more vivid and even lucid dreams where we get tested.

It is 'limiting' but it is the intended design. Infinite beings and consciousness in limited environments. It is constraints that make us learn. It's the manipulation of 'dense' and heavy energy, the slow manifestation of our own life/reality down here that will help us later when we're "back" in our existence with less constraints. (We are actually there always, but a part of us is here).

Guys, I'm new here. I am familiar with astral projection though I've never done it. But anyways, what are some stuff you guys have been able to verify during an OBE?

I used Galantamine which works by preventing the breakdown of acetylcholine in the brain. It is recommended to take it together with choline or Vitamin B supplements. I did both.

Yes, it works. It has effects. Projections were different for me though, mostly I had problems with control then. It wasn't too good for me. Some interesting energetic and mind split experiences also resulted. For example I had more SP experiences, I felt my body more often while "out". Also sometimes felt a 'crack' in my head/brain during the initial phase. But it is not to worry about.

If you do not manage to lucid dream/project, you might still get interesting intense dreams.

There is a phase in the morning when you feel really good in your neuron system. It's also a bit like a 'drug' for me. But it lasts only short while.

I still do not recommend it and do not take it today, unless on very rare occasions because I still have some rest left before the shelf date so to speak.

One should learn it the 'real' way. You consciousness is enough. Keep up the training and it will return. I myself do not have a lot of experiences too like you. But it is because I am too focused with this physical life at the moment.
